Help a MNSSHP newbie!

Newbie here as well. I'm bringing 13 people with me. I'm already planning to sit with blankets to hold spots for the parade. I was thinking we would watch both parades but I like your idea of fireworks first then second parade so we can get to some rides and meet and greets.

That isn't going to work. People will just step on your blankets, kick them out of the way, or sit on them and join you.

As many others already said, you're not going to be able to hold spots for a large group of people. Anyone who wants to be curbside for the parade needs to be there to hold their own spot.

Also, I wouldn't bother watching the same parade twice when there are so many other party specific activities to be seen and enjoyed.

What does "way early" mean to you? Just know that what you think is early, and early by party standards, may not be the same thing. Are you prepared to stand in a line, in pretty intense heat, for up to 2 hours with a 4 and a 6 year old? Its not cool in Orlando in September, the heat is still an issue.

The first party can go one of two ways, mid-September is technically slow season, but it is the first available party. It may be mobbed. If it is, you need to adjust your expectations to fit with a massive crowd level. Every year we have gone the party has felt more and more crowded to me, I think they are raising the cap on attendance each year.

I plan on getting in line around 530 for Jack and Sally, since that's what most advice has said to do. My husband will probably go get food and bring it back and we will eat dinner in line...which should help pass the time for the kids. I have never been in Sept, but do know it is hot so I will do my best to prepare for that. Since Jack and Sally are the main reasons my kids want to attend the party, they are the only non negotiable part of the party. And since I've read that the line is big most of the night, I would rather wait in line before the party begins than do it mid party!

FWIW, the first year we went to the party in 2013 was in October and we headed out of the park after the second parade and caught Jack & Sally with nearly no line... I wouldnt count on that lol but it was a pleasant surprise!

I bet that was great! I definitely wouldn't count on it anyway since I'm sure my kids will be spent after the second parade!

We chose our spot in Liberty Square about an hour prior to the Halloween parade. If I recall correctly there were no fireworks that night, I could be mistaken.
