Got a few questions about Hilton Head.

1. What is the best building to be in?
2. Anything I should bring that I may not think about?
3. How accessible is the island on bike paths?
4. Is the beach clean and nice?

Any building is fine -- nothing is very far. Some are marsh view, some are pool view. Just your preferance. Things I would bring -- some good books if you like to read. I get so much reading there because it is so relaxing. We also pack binoculars so we can look out onto the marsh. We do lots of bike riding -- over to the beach house and through the neighborhoods there. It is where we get most of our bicycle time each year. The beach is very nice, clean. We go in April, so sometimes the kids venture into the water -- we live in the Northeast and are used to the cooler water.

We suggest candles or a lantern for the balcony in the evening as there is not much light out there and we enjoyed having our dinners outside. Also, a can of bug spray could be helpful.

Bring bug spray!

The beach there is very clean and nice. It slopes gently out and in the summer the water gets pretty warm.

(I have no building suggestions, I don't like the HHI DVC LOL!)

Yes, the beach is clean. And the island is very accessible to bikes. Also, I agree with the suggestion to bring binocculars. Through them, we've gotten some great views, not just of birds, but also the dolphins. Our favorite area is the top floor of the Main Lodge, but there are no 2 BR there. However, there are often dolphins that can be seen from there.

This is a great resort. My kids like it better then WDW. They play with kids all day and have made great freids that we still are in touch with. Bring bug spray. They are out only at night, but no big deal. The beaches are like being in the islands, and are great for kids as you can walk out for a mile. The cast is the best and they take pride in their activities for the kids.

A nightlight is a must for us. The villas can be rather dark at night as we've found out the hard way. :upsidedow

The other thing we always bring is a good non-stick fry pan. Something that allows the scrambled eggs to come out of the pan. Nothing like have 1/2 of them left in the pan after going to the trouble of cooking. And, a nice rubber spatula to go along with the fry pan.

When we have driven, we bring our crock pot. A roast, some potatoes, some carrots in there early in the day --- and dinner is waiting when we're ready. :cool1:

Have fun! We'll be there in July for our 6th summer. :hyper:

Oooooh we are driving this summer so I think I will tuck the crock pot somewhere! Good tip cgcw!!! BTW When in July are you going??? We are there from the 8th-14th!
