Help a Brit - Sales Tax

Hi, can someone please let me know what the sales tax is in the following places for my holiday starting tomorrow - yeah

Chicago
Las Vegas
Anaheim

Or even where I can be directed to find it out.

Those cities though will be higher than just the states. You might do a search for those specific cities in www.google.com

I am sure I will enjoy my holiday to the USA, have never been let down before and we have been coming now for the last 10 years, still lots to see and I just love coming off that plane and seeing the signs Welcome To The United States of America, have been known to cry on occasion - I blame the jet lag!!!

Maybe local folks can confirm what I've found on a web search

Las Vegas sales tax is 7.25% and Hotel Room tax is 9%

Anaheim sales tax is 7.75% and Hotel Room tax is 15%

Chicago sales tax is 6% and Hotel Room tax is 14.9%

That will at least give you a ballpark estimate.

also, i am not sure if this is true in other places as well, but i know here (in dc) sales tax on prepared food (10%) is higher than sales tax on other things.
