I only have 14 days left until our trip and haven't recieved anything from Magical Express. I recieved our airline tickets, Disney tickets, everything else except this! OUr itenary says it will come before the trip w/ tags for our bags. How soon did everyone else recieve their tags? Should I have recieved them by now? Do I call Magical Express? Southwest who I booked it through? Ack! Thank you for any help!

I am a TA, all of my ME tags have been coming late, usually 5-10 days prior to departure. If it get's to be 10 days I would advise you to call your TA, they can call DME customer service for you and check on the status.

Hope this helps,
Mary

i am nine days out :cool1: and just received my magical express docs yesterday! There is still hope!!

Whatever you do, DON'T BOTHER calling your airline -- they have absolutely nothing to do with DME when you arrive at MCO. NOTHING.

The airlines don't care what happens to the baggage after it's out of their control. Whether it's you or DME or your Uncle Edgar picking up your luggage and transporting it somewhere makes no difference to the airline. Don't call them -- they'll have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, and they don't have to.

If you never get your luggage tags or info, never fear. As long as you have DME reservations, you're fine. When you arrive at MCO, go DIRECTLY to the DME Welcome Center. When it's your turn, tell the CM your bags aren't DME-tagged. They'll ask for your baggage claim numbers, and also ask you to pick your luggage out of a photo array. A CM will go to baggage claim, claim your bags for you, and send them on their way with the rest of the DME luggage. Your bags will be treated like all the other DME bags.

Like I said, no worries. Having the DME tags on your bags is convenient and helpful but not necessary for you to get the full DME treatment.

Enjoy your vacation.

Actually, I did call the airline b/c I booked everything as a vacation package. SW told me that Disney had a problem with printing these tickets and they are really backed up. I was told not to worry b/c 1) There was still time to recieve the tickets and 2) if I did not recieve the luggage tickets, just take my baggage claim tickets to Magical Express and ME will still claim my luggage for me through that. I was told that SW recieves the luggage tickets from ME and sends them to me - so I guess the airlines are involved? But I guess I'll really find out if I ever get the tickets and can see who mailed them.

Thank you so much for your responses. I do appreciate them!

In your case it makes sense because since you booked a package thru the airline, the airline is, in effect, your travel agent, and travel agents receive the DME materials and pass them along to their clients. Good point.

But under normal circumstances, when the airline is just a carrier and not a TA, they have no "participation" in the arrival portion of DME.

I got my me Tags on WED Feb 2nd and I flew out on the 4th..
Dont worry they always seem to come.
I was freaking out and voiala there they were! :cool1:

Mine came today and we are flying out on the 9th.

I hadn't even thought about them. Not sure when I would have realized we didn't have the luggage tags this time!
