My wife has started a Web site called Hellparents (www.hellparents.com) on which she is collecting stories about bad behavior by parents. She doesn't want nasty stories (about abuse or anything disgusting), but ones that are funny, teach a lesson, or are outrageous.

Anyway, I told here that I've read many times on these boards about parents at DL and WDW yelling at a kid, commanding them to have a good time. I haven't experienced this myself, but if anyone here has it would be real cool if you could stop by Hellparents.com and e-mail the story in so it can be included on the site. In fact, if you have any other stories like this that it might be worthwhile for her to post, I'm sure she'd love to have them, too.

That reminds me, once at Disneyland I heard a mother commanding her son to eat all his French fries because he hadn't had any vegetables that day. That is so sad for so many reasons!

I'm surprised that website name wasn't taken. I believe that's what DS, 13 is currently calling us.

Cute idea. I will keep an eye out at Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts. I'm actively involved in our pack & troop as a leader & committee member. Something about this organization really does bring out the hellparent qualities in some people. Not unlike sports, I suppose. I've seen so many boys reach a point where they're no longer interested and the parents just push and push the kid to stay in.

Then there are so many awards, merit badges, and acheivements to obtain and this can really get mom and dad worked up. I have a kid in my den whose uniform probably weighs 30 pounds with patches and awards. The mother is relentless; the kid could care less. They just want to have fun, sometimes.

:lmao:

The perfect example was in today's Dear Ann (Ann Landers) A 5 year old was invited to a party with directions listed on the web site that no only included the party location but a "registry" for a toy store, a college fund, what toys were and were not acceptable, etc.
