CM's who can pin trade wear blue or green lanyards or fabric squares that have 12 pins on them. Green lanyards are for kids 12 and under.
You can purchase Disney pins at DTD, the parks, Disney resorts, ebay, Disneyshopping.com etc. to trade. Pins at Disney run $6-12 on average.
If you see a pin that you are interested in trading you can trade any Disney pin you have as long as the CM does not already have the same pin.
Do a search here on the Dis, there is lots of info regarding pin trading.
We love it, both the kids and DH and myself get in on the action.
