Do you think today's heat & humidity is getting us ready for Disney weather??! :sunny: :teeth:

9 days and we're off to Disney! :moped: :moped: :moped:

In Florida it's not so much about the heat as it is about the humidity...

Jill...who will be basking in the Florida humidity 8/19 - 8/28! :cool1:

Hehehe! Great thread!!

I suppose it could be prepping us for FL but at least in the FL Humidity you can escape the heat in places like the Carousel of Progress, Haunted Mansion, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Play it!!, etc. Heheheh!

And nothing kills the heat like a Mickey Bar! lol

Mike :goodvibes

Let's not forget all the snow/cold we had over the Winter. Let's hope we don't have a repeat.

oooh you said that bad word! not yet please!

Oh, please, snow and cold!
I spent a few days in Burlington, VT, and it wasn't much cooler, maybe mid-to-upper 80's. Drove home today, to Plymouth, MA, and watched the car thermometer climb to a high of 102 on the SE expressway around 3pm. How ridiculous is this? It's now 80 outside, and my li'l window a/c units can't even come close to cooling off the house. I doubt even FL is suffering this kind of heat, and even if they are, they have a/c everywhere, they're set up for the tropics!
So here I sit, staring at my pc wallpaper, which is a pic of a snow-covered treee from last winter's 3-foot plus snowstorm. Ahhh, those were the days!

That's funny that you mentioned that.. DH and i just went out for dinner, and i mentioned the weather tonight, here in MA, seemed like florida weather when we are there in oct every year.. 9:00 pm. and 78 degrees and muggy!!

not complaining though.. much better than snow, right?!!!

The kids were complaining about the heat today, I told them to get used to it this is what it will be like in FL. But Disney in the heat is better than home in the heat.

Leaving in 83 HOURS!!!

We hear ya' here! It's so hot and soupy -- Where's the rain to cool thing off? Wasn't there a hurricane in the forecast?

As much as I like the idea that any day at Disney is a great day, on 90+ degree days with high humidity, all I want to do is stay in a nice air conditioned place. Think waiting in lines -- or just being outside and not in a pool, would be really tough. That's why we like WDW in Spring.

Sending cool thoughts everyone's way. :cold:

Looks like the rain is coming our way tonight! And the heat lightning show is pretty cool here tonight!

I welcome the rain, and the lightning even as long as it doesn't lead to power outtages again! :goodvibes

Some of us live up north for a reason! I'd much rather have a freezing blizzard instead of a hot and humid day. You can always put on another sweater in the winter when you're cold, but when you're in shorts and the AC is cranking and you're still hot (not to mention a prisoner indoors), what are you supposed to do then?!?

For me, the funniest part of Birnbaum's guide is that he considers a light sweater to be part of the required Florida summer packing list because of the pumped up AC. One of my favorite WDW memories came during an October visit when a "cold wave" came over the land and knocked the temperature down from the humid 90's it had been all week to a very comfy 72 degrees. Walking into MGM, I came across a food stand CM who had donned a jacket, long pants and had both gloved hands circled around her steaming cup of coffee in an obvious attempt to survive the "brutal cold" that had descended upon WDW. She looked at my single shirt, shorts and sandals, and asked aloud how I could possibly dress that way. I told her that as far as us Bostonians were concerned, it was finally a reasonably warm summer day!

Now, DW...that's another story! She's ready to head south at the first sign of fall..............

Now THAT WDW "story" is a classic! (At least for us New Englanders! heehee) Thanks for sharing! ::MickeyMo

Great thunderstorm tonight. But thr Red Sox game got rained out!!! :sad2:

But it only took five hours to decide to do that...they probably sold a couple more hot dogs!

More importantly, congrats on your 200th post from someone now typing his 100th!! :cool1:

These boards can be a serious waste of time sometimes..... :rotfl2:

Had my grandkids over the weekend. The youngest one, 7 yrs. all he talked about was going to the playground. So, I braved the heat and took the 3 of them after lunch yesterday. The 2 oldest asked to leave after less than 10 minutes. We even welcomed going grocery shopping.
I told them that I was getting ready for Disney. Will be going on Sept. 1. hope it will be a little cooler................
Last week the ac at work was so cold that I wore a jacket all day, then went out with it still on, you should have seen the strange looks I got walking to the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
