Hello - well I'm not new to Dis, but I am venturing over here for the first time today! I can finally hold my head high and say I am doing something about being overweight (not that I have not worked on it and been temporarily successful before). I will be 50 in less then 18 months, and I want to be FINE at FIFTY! I am VERY familiary with WW - lost lost close to 90 lbs three years ago, before making a major life change in moving from PA and all my WW support to Orlando, with just my DD. I will be using the WW plan on my own, as today I joined Curves - it's close, convenient & quick. I need more help with the getting moving part right now - once the exercise is in place the healthy eating comes easy!

DD and I vowed on Sunday to eat healthier (and have been successful for three full days now - one day at a time right?) DD is nine and is slightly overweight, but it is starting to bother her, so I am hoping this can be a team effort with the two of us!

Hopefully I can gleen some inspiration and information from this thread and in the near future be a positive influence as well!!!!
 
:wave: Hi there! Welcome to WISH!!! There is always room for one more and there is a pretty good support system to be found here.There are a bunch of folks here doing a variety or programs so there are a ton of resources to tap into. Since you have had success on WW before you have some important tools to be successful again.

I am on my second go round with WW, first time l lost 60 pounds, then a big move, DH retiring from the military, my father getting sick and passing away all gave me excuses to gain almost 24 pounds. I am 9 weeks into my second go with WW and I am down 9 pounds and still going. So come around often to gain support and offer some of your own, WISH truly is a great place to come.

I am so glad you have found us.

Great news that you are on the road to being a healthier you AND taking DD with you. What a great support system you have.

You will find that there are many things here to help you stay motivated and get you going alony your journey of healthy eating choices.

Come often, post lots, join in on any of the threads with challenges that are ongoing, start a new one. Everyone here is most helpful. I will be interested to hear of your journey.
 
welcome to wish! Getting moving is a great start--for lots of folks, that's the hard part, so good for you! Maybe you can incorporate some walking or biking or other activity together with your dd too. We like to take walks as a family. Hiking, with the dog, whatever we can. I just got back here myself after being away for months and gaining back some weight I had lost. This is a great support system with lots of wonderful people! Like you said this is definitely a one day at a time thing! There will be good days and yes there will be bad days but I keep telling myself if I can keep the bad days to one at a time instead of weeks of bad days I will make progress. My DD is 12 and is overweight and sometimes she tries harder than others to make better food choices and I just keep hoping that if I lead a healthier example she will follow and slim down a bit too. She has made a step in the right direction so far this school year by taking lunch from home instead of buying hot lunchh at school and so far she has been making pretty good choices on what to have in her lunch. Weightloss is definitely a "team" effort.
