While talking to a few people about planning a Disney trip, I was told about these boards so here I am :) Looking into a Disney vacation for next year or the year after and it's all so overwhelming!!!

Hi, Tara, and welcome.

Let's break it down to smaller steps.

1. When are you going? Disney has different "seasons" that determine pricing for its resorts. The two busiest (and probably most expensive weeks) are Christmas and Spring break. We're both teachers, so we go in August (as in a week from Wednesday!!!!)

2. On site or off site? Disney has a BUNCH of resorts on 3 different price levels: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. If you stay at any of them, you get a number of perks, including Disney's Magical Express ( free shuttle to and from the airport), transportation to all 4 parks, and access to Extra Magic Hours (hours each day when one of the parks is open only to guests at one of their resorts. Keep in mind, that's a zillion people, but it's still fewer than the 3 zillion people staying off site.) Each of the resorts has a different theme. But all have a pool, and sleep at least 4 people plus a child under 3 in a pack and play.

If you're thinking off site, take a look at www.allstarvacations.com I've never used them, but they come highly recommended.

3. Take a look at www.mousesavers.com to get started.

Does that help at all?
