Hello my fellow disers!

First of all, thank you to all of you for your prayers and thoughts. Us Fla. Disers need them! Just wanted to let you know that my family and I are well. We weathered through the storm with pretty much no damage. My roofer finished my roof on Friday at 3 p.m. so talk about calling it close. I lost only one shingle and my rain gutter fell. However, there is a leak in one of my bedrooms, but it could have been ALOT worse. Luckily the storm hit us as a category 1 and worked it's way to a tropical storm. However, I ask that each of you keep praying. They are now saying that Ivan may be on his way to Fla as well. I really wish these storms would end. Now back to repairs and such!

Hiya Spidey.......so glad you are okay......the pics on the news showing some of the devastation around the beaches and the high seas must have been very frightening. I have read that there are quite a few Brits stranded out there and some stranded over here waiting to fly out there!! Amazingly we had temperatures as high as 81oF yesterday and high 70's today!!! Crazy weather!

Good to hear your voice Spidey! It must've been really hard dealing with the changing predictions accompanying Frances. And now they're saying something about Ivan being record-setting. You can bet you all still be in our prayers.

Glad to hear that Frances was a bit kinder to you than Charley was, Spidey. That was certainly a close call with getting your roof repair finished.

I'm still praying for all our Florida DISers and for all Floridians in general. This one, two and possibly three punch of hurricanes truly is psychological torture, even if you've been lucky enough to escape with little physical damage. I don't know how you guys have been able to cope.

My son and I finished our roof repairs by flashlight Thursday night. I still have trees like pixie stix in the back yard, fence mending and a jacuzzi to tear out. If we make it through Ivan I'm going to try to buy homeowner's insurance again. Think that will go up? I like the guy on NBC that said that Frances was..." the worst storm to hit Florida in the past 22 days!" Hang in there Spidey, and thank God we all made it uninjured. I'm happy that we didn't fall off the roof!

My Daughter just called and said she would take her chances in St Pete. As it looks like once again it will bear down on us again in sowega..If the models dont change....Hope you all are doing okay motherfletcher..I have too not cleaned up my yard in the event if Ivan....I hope ther is something still left of orlando when we go next month..If we can still go....It would have been our first trip anywhere without my Scooby Doo by her daddy's side But me and mom need some GROWN UP time Take care and let me know how you are doing!If you need something give me a shout maybe you still have my cell phone number,if not pm me and i will give it to you.

Somebody please make Ivan go away! Frances caused more damage to my house-there is now almost no ceiling in my garage or kitchen due to her. If Ivan comes, even if it's just tropical storm force winds, it will be bad. He will probably make the house unlivable...

I'm so sorry DM.....glad that you are okay....but very sad to hear that. In the UK the weather experts predicted it would touch the western fringes of Florida, but it's so wide, that I guess that is little comfort. How are your studies affected by all this? I can only imagine how difficult it's all been with working at Universal as well. Methinks you should take a holiday well away from it all.
