"Hello? I'm in the Carousel of Progress.."*UD1/13pg74"All Good Things...*

Oh no!! Your last post - ok, well promise you will come back to do a recap and final thoughts soon! I LOVED your report! Thanks for sharing your trip, your family, and your memories with us! It was great getting to know you and your lovely crew through this report and I am utterly sad that it is over. :sad2:

Awwww! I can't believe that your TR is coming to an end! I have enjoyed reading it and getting to know you, Missy! :goodvibes Glad you had a nice meal at Biergarten--it sounds fabulous!! My sister-in-law and her family ate there last summer during their trip (her DH is German) and they just raved about it!! Can't wait to hear a wrap-up!!

I'm so sad that your TR is over!!!:sad1: I've enjoyed reading it soooo much!!:goodvibes

Ahh....those are some really sad faces. But, I totally understand how they were feeling. It's always so hard to leave that last day. I agree with your DH on the DME buses!!! It's so funny because when you arrive you can't wait to see one pull up and then when you leave....it's hard to even look at them.:sad2:

But...on the brighter side, it sounds like you ended your last night perfectly---with a great dinner and being able to see Epcot all lit up and to hear Illuminations in the background one last time. :cloud9:

Glad you were able to use all your snack credits!! You do get alot with the QSDP (one of the great things about the plan!!:thumbsup2)

I'm looking forward to reading your wrap up and final thoughts!!

Hello Missy!
so sorry to hear the end is near...the faces leaving the resort poor babies needed another month ;); too funny about the miserable express--I've heard it called something very similiar in another post, too! The drivers must hear it all-the excitement when arriving and the bitterness and sadness when departing!

glad to hear your holidays was a fun one!
:wave2: Connie

Awww...Missy it really is over.:sad1:

this has been a great TR and I have loved all of the fun, adventure, good eats, and naps along the way. You guys sure packed a wallop of FUN into this trip and I know you never forget it.

The ending meal looked great, I didn't know they had entertainment in there too. :thumbsup2 glad it was a very wonderful end to your trip.

looking forward to your final thoughts and I know I'll see you around on the boards!

:sad2: It's so sad to head home...

Biergarten looks fantastic! What a nice way to end the trip. :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing your trip with all of us.

Hi Amy! I hope you had a fantastic holiday with your family! Thanks for sticking with me through this TR....it took me way longer than I thought it would take. Beirgarten was really great..I would definitely go back. Can't wait to get over and catch up on your pre-trippie!

No no no no no. I hate it when a trip comes to an end. At least you guys had a great time on your last day. The meal at Biergarten looked pretty good. We have never eaten in Germany before and I am trying to talk John into eating there. He's not too keen on sharing a table with people he doesn't know.

The picture of the kids outside the room for the last time says it all. Poor babies were sad to see the end of the vacation. I don't blame them at all.

Hi Lisa! We really did have a great day and a GREAT vacation! It wasn't awkward to eat with people we didn't know. I don't think we said more than the polite hello's...although Jeff may have talked to them more...he tends to do that! You should try to get John to try it...the food was awesome!

I love those sad face pics...and although they are posing, that's really how we all felt. So sad to see it come to an end. :sad1:

Such sad faces at the end. Last meal sounds wonderful. Going to have to try it next trip. What a fun trip ya'll had. Thank you for letting me come along on it.

Thanks for coming along for the ride!

I'll come back and post final thoughts this week...promise! ;) I can't believe it took me this long to finish....I had no idea! It's been fun getting to know you as well...I'm sure I'll see you around the boards! :goodvibes

Hi Becky! Big game this weekend??!! I'm sad this TR is over too...I guess I'll just have to live through you and your pre-trip report! I need to get over there and catch up! :rolleyes1

I agree...that big ol' bus is the last thing you want to pull up outside your resort!

But...on the brighter side, it sounds like you ended your last night perfectly---with a great dinner and being able to see Epcot all lit up and to hear Illuminations in the background one last time. :cloud9:

So much! I felt awful leaving all those CS credits but it had to be done! At least you can take the snacks "to go"!

I'm looking forward to reading your wrap up and final thoughts!!

This week..I promise! Thanks for hanging in there with me!

I know...those DME drivers get both ends of the spectrum. I don't think I'd want to drive the DME bus on the way BACK to the airport...that must just be depressing!

Thanks Julie! It's been so fun to write and I will miss it. But....I'll be over to catch up on your pre-trip soon. With no WDW vacation in my near future I'll have to settle for "traveling" along with my DISfriends! :)

Hi Becky! Big game this weekend??!! I'm sad this TR is over too...I guess I'll just have to live through you and your pre-trip report! I need to get over there and catch up! :rolleyes1

The game is Thursday night!! Whoo hoo!! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time!! ROLL TIDE!!! :cheer2:

Biergarten looked like it was a lot of fun!

That sad face pic would be great at the end of a photobook of your vacation! Too funny to get one last pic of Isaiah sleeping.

You really need to plan another vacation ~ somewhere, anywhere ~ because I enjoy reading what you write! Thanks again for sharing your family and your vacation with us!

Thanks so much for hanging in there with me! My good friend just booked a WDW/Disney cruise vacation...so jealous! I don't see a 2010 vacation....but WHEN I do go again, I'll be back to share my adventures!

Hi,
All caught up. Great tr and pics.

Too bad your trip report is ending. I have really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing it. I am glad you had a great last meal at Epcot. We are far from adventurous eaters, so we have never eaten there before.

I hope so too Denise, but it's not looking promising! I'll have to just tag along on all my DISfriends' trips!

Morning Missy,

I know you don't have another vacation in the works yet. If you want to come along with me while I plan our next trip, just click on the link below. We just found out that my mother is going with us!

So....it's time for me to stop dragging my feet and finally put this Trip Report to bed. SO sad. :sad1:

I'll say good-bye with a little wrap-up of our trip and closing thoughts.

First....the Dates. We went during our kids' Spring Break from school, April 19-28. Thankfully, it was a few weeks after most of the country was on break so the crowds were fine. I had worried that we would see some crazy crowds the first weekend of our trip, but that never happened. The weather was PERFECT! :thumbsup2 We had only one day with any rain and it was only for an hour or so in the afternoon...completely manageable. My favorite part about going to WDW in April is being able to enjoy the Flower and Garden Festival. I love all the special little touches throughout the parks. :goodvibes

Second...the Resort. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside mainly because we are a family of five and our affordable choices are very limited. The down-side to staying at POR is that we all share a room. :crowded: This trip it worked our perfectly, but with the boys getting bigger and our next trip nowhere in sight, we may have to re-think this when and if there is a next time. We LOVE the quiet pools at POR and the boys enjoy the water slide at the main pool. Jeff and I also love to take advantage of the hot tub! ;) We love that POFQ is a short walk away and enjoyed beignets there one morning for breakfast. Our room was always clean and well stocked...and we had towel animals and little surprises throughout our stay. The grounds of POR are gorgeous and I love to stroll the crooked paths! Despite reports of bus issues at POR, in our two stays there as a family we have had nothing but FANTASTIC bus service. I have stayed both on-site and off-site and will always choose to stay on-site if possible. There's nothing like being immersed in Disney magic 24/7! :wizard:

Next...the Quick Service Dining Plan. I have mixed feelings about this overall. It was definitely the most affordable choice for our family for this trip. Taking the gratuity out of the standard Dining Plan really swayed our decision to choose QSDP. If you plan accordingly and do your research, it is possible to get a wide variety of foods on the QSDP...not just burgers and fries. The great thing about it is that you are not tied to ADR's and that if a family member is not happy with the restaurant choice, he/she can easily choose a different one. For example, one night Jeff and I got dinner from Tangierine Cafe in Morocco and the boys ate fish and chips in the UK. We all sat together at an outside table and could enjoy our meals together. I loved all the snacks that are included in this plan and, honestly, we had a hard time using all of our credits! The negatives? I missed being able to do more character meals. We did pay for one OOP, but I would have liked to do others. It's definitely more relaxing to be able to sit and order your meal from a waiter and be served....I missed that as well. Next time? I guess we'll just have to see when that is and what is available at that time. Having three boys who like to eat makes a meal plan of some kind a must-do for us. ::yes::

Finally...The Parks!

Animal Kingdom- We love this park! :lovestruc I think that AK is immaculately themed and I love to wander through and try to take in all the little touches the imagineers have put in. EE is a family favorite and I love that we can all ride and enjoy it together! FOTLK is also a must-do. My favorite AK memory from this trip is getting soaked on Kali after complaining that I didn't get wet enough on our last trip. Be careful what you wish for! :rolleyes1

Epcot- This is by far our favorite park. Although you cannot match the feeling of wonder and magic at MK, Epcot is the park in which we choose to spend most of our time. WS is my very favorite and we were able to really slow down and experience each country on this trip. We saw some of the street performers and got to eat at some different restaurants. We also love Soarin' and my boys (Jeff included) can't get enough of Club Cool. Springing Beverly on unsuspecting first-timers never gets old! My favorite memory from Epcot this trip was Isaiah saying he was exhausted because he just walked all the way from Mexico to Germany. That boy can make me giggle! :lmao:

Magic Kingdom- Ahh....what can I say? Main Street and the castle, balloon vendors, characters, the music and smells....I love it all! pixiedust: I especially enjoyed staying at the park until the wee hours of the morning for EMH one night. Seeing Wishes from high atop Splash Mountain was awesome! Haunted Mansion continues to be one of our faves and seeing it after dark added to the experience. My favorite memory was watching all the attention and interaction Jonah got from both cast members and characters when he had his pirate face paint. pirate: His interaction with Tink was especially cute!

Hollywood Studios- This was the one park where crowds were the biggest issue. Despite that, we were able to enjoy our day. The highlight was riding TOT with ALL 5 of us! Yay! Everyone was tall enough for RnRC this trip as well so it was fun to enjoy all the rides as a family. We did get to see Fantasmic...from the standing-room-only section, but we did see it! We also got to meet Mr and Mrs Incredible..a first...and enjoyed the block party parade. It was so fun to see Jonah dancing in the street!

I know that those short summaries can't even begin to explain what an awesome trip we had, but it gives you a taste! WDW is truly a magical place for our family and our vacations there will be treasured lifelong memories. There is something about WDW that brings us together and gives us the freedom to enjoy life and each other's company like no other place I've been. For that reason, we will continue to go back....just WHEN???? That is the question!

Thank you so much for reading along with me and getting to know my beautiful family. I'm sure I'll “see” you around the boards! :disrocks:

Your summary of your vacation was wonderful! It brought back memories of your trip report to me and made me smile. I do so hope that you'll get to go back to Disney World soon. It really is a magical place to spend time with your family.

Thanks for the walk down memroy lane after a fantastic trip report. I look forward to having wonderful memories like these with my family on out 1st trip to the world.:yay:

Missy,
great wrap up!
thank you for sharing your family memories with us... it has been fun traveling along with you.

I can relate to being in the Disney magic 24/7 and staying on the grounds. We really enjoy the mods, too! but, values are just as nice (just the pool is less adventerous) but nice to have two rooms for the price (just a thought --for your future).

Keep in touch!!! dissing and FBing
:wave2: Connie

Missy,

wonderful recap...It brought back some of your wonderful fun, antics, food, jokes, naps and more...
