I have decided to come out of lurkdom and join the Dis community!
My family made a few trips to Orlando and once to Disneyland when I was a kid living in the Chicago suburbs. We went more frequently when we moved to Miami, but ever since we moved out of Florida, the trips have not been frequent enough for me! I havent been to WDW since 99 so I am really looking forward to my next trip this fall.
My dad was talking about a trip to Orlando in 76 right before I was born and telling me how much ticket prices were back then. Ahh, if only it were 1976 again!
We are in the midst of planning a fall trip for 9 people. My sister and I have gone back and forth so many times with dates and hotels that its starting to make me go crazy!
She went to tMK over the weekend with my parents and cousins and had an aha moment once she realized how convenient staying on property is - especially the monorail resorts.
We are currently booked at the Marriott Cypress Harbor, reading the forums and listening to the podcast, Im leaning towards renting some DVC points. Do you think its too late to do that? Our trip is planned for Veterans Day weekend (November 7-11). I am a little nervous that the DVC owners will be wary of renting to a newbie, but I guess Ill have to see!
