Welcome.. I am probably not much help but I do know for a fact if they know Disney is pretty good at adjusting to allergies.Once I had a friend who was allergic to shell fish or anything cooked on the same grill and they worked around that pretty well

I do not have your answers-I just wanted to give you a shot out from another fellow disney fan from missouri!!!:cheer2: Welcome to Dis!!!

I was searching information on food allergies and came accross this website.

If you make reservations this is the best thing.

Dining with Food Allergies

While I hoped that my kid's would have inherited my dazzling beauty (don't think that I can't hear you laughing), as it turned out, my daughters got my wavy hair along with my allergies. Fortunately, I've outgrown mine, but my girls still need to be cautious when it comes to menu selections.

We're lucky that their allergies are moderate, but for many families the wrong food could result in a trip to the emergency room. Estimates show that annually 150 Americans die as a result of a severe allergic food reaction.

Does having an allergy mean that you're doomed to preparing your own food when you travel? Not if you're heading to Disney World. The dining staff is constantly developing recipes for their guests who cannot consume specific foods.

At a rate of 7000+ meals a month, Disney accommodates dieters who have to avoid a gamut of foods as well as those who are on low-sodium and Kosher diets.

Think your little one has to forego those irresistible Mickey Waffles because he's allergic to wheat? The Disney chefs have prepared a special batter so that almost anyone can enjoy them.

Any of the Disney restaurants that accepts reservations (including the buffets) can prepare a menu to address your needs. It's asked that you give them at least 72 hours notice when planning your dining.

When making your booking, let the Cast Member know which foods need to be avoided and the dining staff will be alerted. When you arrive at the restaurant, remind them of your needs and they'll take it from there. Just call 407-WDW-DINE and you're good to go. The best part, there's no fee tacked on for this service.

At the counter service venues, you'll need to use the same cautions you would at home. Fortunately, Disney now has many choices not found at your average fast food spot. Veggies and dip, grilled chicken, salads, fruit are among the options that can be selected when you need to avoid wheat, eggs, nuts, etc.

As for myself, the only "problem" we had was with those darned string beans that were served to my youngest at 50's Prime Time. She's allergic to them and I didn't think to alert the dining staff. She simply pushed the beans aside and enjoyed the rest of her meal. If you're familiar with 50's, part of the shtick is insisting that you eat your veggies. At first our server thought we were trying to avoid having our daughter perform "I'm a Little Teapot". We finally convinced her that she is indeed allergic to them.

Don't make the mistake we did. With a little advance planning you can fully enjoy all of the terrific restaurants that Disney is known for.

Kosher Meals

The Disney Counter Serve restaurants do have Kosher selections available at all times. Almost all of the Disney Restaurants can prepare Kosher meals when given 24 hours notice. The exceptions are:
Teppanyaki
Portobello Yacht Club
Planet Hollywood
Fulton's Crab House
Rainforest Cafe
Shula's Steakhouse
Blue Zoo
Fresh Mediterranean Market
Garden View Afternoon Tea
Gulliver's Grill

Thanks for the info. That is how Kaden is nothing can come in contact with Milk or eggs or he will have a reaction.

We are about 30 minutes west of St.Louis! You will love DisneyWorld! We leave in 3 days and I cannot wait to get out of this cold! This has got to be one of the coldest winters for us! Also, last night and today we are getting hit with snow-weather man is calling for a total of 4-5", which for us is a lot! No school again for the kiddo's, I think this is the 3rd time this school year, which is a high number for us!

Just wanted to say Hi from another Missourian! There are a few of us floating around in here. Good luck with your son's allergy situation, and I hope you have a great trip! November is a great time to go!

Another big HI from MO....but from the KC side of the state.......
There was a trip report done by a mom who's son had similar allergies if I remember correctly. I'll try and look and see if I can find her user name so you could read her report (which details how they delt with the allergies) and maybe even contact her with questions....people are very helpful here on the boards!

:wave2: Hello from another Missourian! I live in St. Louis and was snowed in today with my DD. She doesn't have a food allery but does have special needs and we find the Open Mouse book by Deb Wills very helpful. It includes info about food allergies.
