Hello from England

Hi

We are from Barnet in North London and we bought our points in October 2004 and then added on last June.

We have already stayed at SSR, used points for Disneyland Paris and done an exchange to Devon during half term. We are taking two families with us in October and can't wait to go every year too. Next year we thought we may try a three night cruise also.

Welcome to this board. The UK DVC board can be very quiet.

Hi yet another couple of Brits here  Owners at BWV and we have just emailed our contracts back for OKW just waiting for ROFR. There are a lot of us, but don't know how many for sure.

Hi! We live in Essex. We bought SSR points in Dec 2003 and added on last year. We have stayed at SSR twice, OKW and VWL. Loved them all.

We pay our dues by cc in one lump. We have a Tesco card and get lots of points but I think I like Charlotte's idea of a Virgin card. Would rather get free Virgin flights than Tesco points, although we did have a great free trip to DLP using those points a year ago. Have now got loads and have no idea what to do with them.

Hi We live in Dartford Kent and have owned at OKW for three years. We originally planned to go two years out of three but we've been every year so far and plan to go next year too. We buy annual passes for the parks and get two holidays from each one by going a few weeks earlier the second year.

We also pay our annual dues in a lump sum using our Virgin credit card, we only had to pay for one of our three seats on our flights for August. :)

Hi there, Lecras's DH here :)

First off, ignore the SSR bashing and see what you think when you get there. It's our favourite resort (although we haven't seen OKW yet).

Chris and Pooh, I'm interested in opening a US bank account for us when we are there, where is the nearest branch? Also, do you get a debit/cashpoint card with the Suntrust account?

Another British DVC member signing in; you'll find quite a few more over on the UK DVC board too. We joined at OKW ten years ago, and have since added small amounts at VB and BWV. And I manage at least 2 trips a year :rolleyes1

We pay our dues in one go in January even though we have a US bank account with Washington Mutual. They send us a free statement every month for our checking account and there are no charges at all. The only downside is that when our bank cards expire, they will not post them out to the UK and they have to be picked up.

Btw you'll get a better exchange rate by using a Nationwide cc to pay your dues than almost any other, although I can see that if you are using the Virgin card for free flights, the perks could make the poorer rate more acceptable.

Just love my DVC despite the dues ;)

Hi,
Sorry about the delay in replying I did not see your post until today.

The nearest branch is the LAKE BUENA VISTA
The address is as follows: 1675 Buena Vista Dr Orlando, FL 32830

From DTD carparks turn left and its about a mile down the road,
for info there are loads of Suntrust atms on WDW property, you get a check card which you can use just like a debit card, they will also renew by post, I unfortunately had my wallet stolen a few months back and once reported they sent me a new check card in the post.
Hope this helps

Hi, Just curious do you work at GSK? That is where I work

Thanks for the reply Chris and Pooh :thumbsup2

I work in a bank so I can purchase USD at the interbank market rate with no margin or comission, and a reduced charge for transferring funds, so a US account with a cashcard would be very handy.

Another UK DVC'er.

We live in Essex and have owned at BCV since 2003.

We also pay our Annual Dues by Virgin CC and our miles earned have paid for 2 out of 3 of our flights to California this year - just cattle class though not PE or UC sadly :sad1:

Another UK member - and we are off on our first visit home to OKW tomorrow!

:cheer2: :Pinkbounc :woohoo:
