Hello from Charlotte, NC!

Hello, fellow Disney brothers and sisters! Hope all of you are great! I am very happy that, after listening to the Dis Unplugged and numerous other Disney podcasts, I am moving beyond the "lurker" phase and finally reaching out and joining a community.

I like many of you (like Anthony, for example) have a deep and abiding passion for all things Disney (especially the parks) and find it difficult to locate other people of like minds. People think it strange that I look forward to, week after week, listening to podcasts about Disney. They also think it is odd that I choose to go on a Disney vacation (resorts, cruise line, etc.) so often.

Of course, in this community, instead of being slightly odd I am one of many who "get it"... and the thought of that really brings me a lot of joy. Disney, the parks especially, are cathartic and bring me home. I wind up going to a place of great peace, relaxation and happiness.

I am really looking forward to the following things:

• My next Disney vacation (ALWAYS!)
• Getting to meet what I imagine are great people on the DIS!
• Meeting up with Disney fans locally. Where are you my brothers and sisters in Charlotte?

Well... I don't want to take up too much of your time and there are always more posts to be made! As I sit here in my living room watching the Top 7 Must Sees in WDW (I have a recording!), I bid you goodbye for now.

Well... and this may sound TOO Disney geeky (is that possible?)... I collect a bunch of Disney sounds (music, park audio, podcasts, etc.) and listen to them on the way down. It gets me into the mood and really builds the anticipation! Nothing like some sweet Haunted Mansion, Mission Space, Great Movie Ride, etc. audio to get you in the mood and get you thinking about the greatness of what is to come.

As I mentioned on another thread, we push the trip to Jacksonville and stay outside of that city so that the next morning, even if we wake up at 9:00 AM, we can be comfortably in the parks by noon.

Now I am jealous! We always have to go to Brewsters with our DD for an ice-cream That place is great - at school DD drew a picture of it for her class!!
