I've been lurking for a bit and figured I would take some time to say hello. My family and I are just in the very beginning phases of planning our trip for Dec 4-11, 2011. I am trying to walk the fine line of being organized and being manic about keeping rigid time schedules and not actually enjoying it all. I look forward to reading more tips and TRs as we plan our trip for my wife, 5yr old and 8 mo old sons (at the time of the trip) as well as myself. It will be the kids' first time and while I understand there are differing opinions on the best ages to bring kids, I think the trip is as much for us as them so we can enjoy their reactions to everything.

Looking forward to it!

:welcome: Matt! This is definitely the best place to go for planning your trip! I also recommend picking up a copy of the Unofficial Guide to WDW 2011 if you don't have one already. :disrocks:

It is already on order! :) The first of several "preparation" purchases I'm sure.

Shhhh, don't tell my wife I don't need much else. This is my shot at some new gear. :rolleyes1

:ssst: You'll still need to get lots of other goodies. I was just referring to reference material like guides and things. Happy purchasing!!

 Excellent. I now have written proof that I need to begin investing in all kind of new technology. :yay:

You have found the perfect place to read and research for your trips. On our first trip my boys were 2 and 4. We had a wonderful time. Our oldest still remembers part of it. Our youngest doesn't, but I remember his reaction when he rode the attractions and saw the characters. It was a great trip for me and my DH. You will not regret taking them at this age. They will also be amazed at all the Christmas decorations!

Have a fantastic time!

 What kind of things are you wanting to get? Camera stuff or what?

Well, I want to get some camera gear (filter, tripod, backpack, lens), new stroller, new luggage, maybe some clothes thrown in there for good measure.

You'll definitely want digital quality circular polarizer and UV filters if you don't have them already. (I'm a photographer) :thumbsup2

Those I do have already. Each lens has a UV on it and I've got polarizers as well. I look forward to becoming friends with the UPS guy.

Another cool filter would be a ND +13. You can set a long exposure in a crowd and it'll look like nobody's there. They're pricey though... :rolleyes1

Man I didn't even think they made those anymore. Where can you find them?
