Complete newbie to the DIS. Speaking of n00b; is DIS just short for Disney? It isn't possibly an acronym, right?

So now that we've finished the part where I make myself look silly, I should explain how I came across these lovely boards. I accidentally discovered the DIS boards from Google and fell in love... <3 Actually, I had googled 'webkinz' and found a message board on here discussing it. Then I wondered, "Oh, is this a disney forum or something?" Then I discovered women posting about their disney weddings here! My mom and I have always talked about how I'd love to have a disney wedding(I'm sixteen). Then I found people posting their trip reports. Long story short, I've been reading about the lives of you DISers for a few weeks now, and finally worked up the courage to make a post. I'm actually considering posting a trip report, so I figured I should probably at least introduce myself. My family went to Disneyland Resort Paris a few months ago, since we were already 'over the pond' to explore England(lived there when I was a lot younger) and Paris(none of us had been). I've always loved Disney and my family has been to both Disneyland and Disneyworld, though several years ago. We currently reside in Texas and have for several years. So, we went to DLP, and it was one of my favorite things about our entire trip! My poor parents; they take me to a different continent, and I'm still wanting to go to Disney. A disney where the prices are multiplied by $1.50....

Sorry to write such a long first post! Just wanted to say, uhm, hi!

P.S. This message board has cool smilies. princess:

I hope you enjoy your time on DISboards. It can be very addictive! ::yes::

:welcome: to the boards. You found a great site, friendly, knowledgeable people who could answer just about any question about disney!!! Just beware...it's very addicting...in a good way!!! :dance3:

We are a family of three, dh, dd10, and myself. Never been abroad but have been going to disney every year since my daughter turned 6-watching the magic through her eyes is priceless! Here is some pixiedust: hoping you get your dream wedding at Disney. During our first trip, we caught a glimps of the Bride and the wedding party at the Grand Floridian-she was truely a princess!

Welcome!

DIS actually was originally "Disney Information Station", but now it is mostly just thought of as DIS, like the first part of DISney. That is a great question! I bet many had no idea that the DIS actually is an acronym!

It sounds like you have already done quite a bit of looking around here, but if you haven't seen it we also have a very active Teen Forum with some great fun threads you can get involved in.

I would love for my daughters to have a Disney Wedding, but they would need to have a fiance that can afford to pay for it!

Have fun here!

:welcome: !! To Disboards.

Have Fun Here With The Rest of Us So Called Disers!!:goodvibes :thumbsup2
