Hello my name is Amy and I usually post on the community boards here. I am 25, married and have 2 DD's. I don't know if this is the right place but I have a problem with gaining weight. I am 99lbs and still dropping. I just had my youngest DD 8.16.05 and I was 97 lbs before I got pregnant with her and right after I had her, I dropped all my weight again, never even looked like I had a kid. My DH tells me I look like a cancer patient. I don't know why, but I never have an appetite so I go all day without eating and not even realize it untill DH askes me when I ate last. I am afraid kinda. I been to several doctor's and they all said itwas normal for me, but I really don't think it is normal. My bones hurt, Im very weak (I got fustrated because I couldn't push a thumb tac into my wall) every support group I look for on the internet for advice, is all about people who want to loose weight, not gain it. I am not Bulimic, I don't throw up my food and Im not anorexic. I been this way for at least 4 years that I can remember. I use to weigh a good 130 lbs which was great for me, but something happened. Any advice would be real helpful and appreciated, thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Hi Amy. :wave2: Welcome to WISH! Yes, you're right, your problem is more unique than most. I'm going to suggest the same tool that we use when we want to lose weight ... JOURNALLING ! But in your case, I'm going to suggest that you try and plan your day of meals/snacks ... write them down. As you eat, check them off. This will hopefully act as a reminder to eat. Getting a balanced diet of the 4 food groups is essential to your well being. Even if you're not hungry, EAT that piece of fruit, or some cheese and crackers ... your body will thank you for it.

Are you nursing your DD? If yes, it's even more important that you're eating a balanced diet, throughout the entire day.

I know that many, including myself would gladly just "give" you some of my excess weight, but since that's not possible, we'll just try and support you as best as we can. Visit us here on WISH often ... you couldn't ask for a better group of friends.

Welcome to WISH Amy!
This board is not only for those interested in losing weight. We are all in this together. We're Inspired to Stay Healthy!
It is all about making healthy choices in life. Journaling is a great idea. Healthy eating choices and exercise are pivotal to wholesome well being.

I have a friend who walked in your shoes for quite some time (she was quite frustrated by it I might add), my mother did also she tells me when she was young, as well as my next door neighbor. You are not alone. Your metabolism will change as you get older. Get yourself stronger and make those healthy eating choices now.

Typically we always will adivse to check your medical well being before you begin. Since you have the doctor saying this is normal for you, it makes your starting on healthy choices somewhat easier.

Are you getting any exercise as yet? I know chasing 2 young ones around can be quite challenging. Can you begin some sort of dedicated time for you to exercise (walk, yoga, pilates, video exercises...something)? I am certain that as you "schedule" yourself for healthy eating choices, and increase in exercising you will find more energy to meet your daily routines and even feel happier than ever.

Eating your meals is where your body will get itself fueled to carry on the work of being the wonderful Mom that you are. Make yourself sit and take on the fuel. (I know this is difficult if you have no appetite...I hate to eat breakfast but force myself to have something.) You do not need to have large quantities, have something healthy either 3 times or break it to 6 times a day. Set an alarm if you must.

For you it is onward and upward! (To a healthier you)

Come often and post lots. The challenges are also a good way to meet some of our group. While many will be doing the challenges to lose, you can benefit by becoming stronger. Don't be shy about joining in.

I look forward to hearing more of your journey to become a healthier you!
