Haven't been on since we got back last January - not sure if the same folks are on or not. I miss Disboards, but it HURTS to be on when I can't go, LOL! My little green monster get BIG.

My non-Magical DH is actually hoping to go again soon. Feb is too soon, May may be just right but I'm worried about the crowds. Back for research, you see.

We often stay in Newport during the summer but I'm just NOT ready for a quickie summer trip after experiencing January. It was heaven!!!

So basically - after my extensive research LAST yr, I'm just hoping to figure out the optimum time to go. If money was right it would be tomorrow!! Hello to all my old Dis-aquaintences!

This will be my first trip to DL so I can't comment personally on the crowds however I remember reading on another thread that early May is good because the crowds are reasonable and the weather is good - not too hot or too cold.

I am sure others will be able to confirm if this is correct or not.

I hope you have a great trip when the time is right!

I will say it will be nice to dry out fast after a water ride in May than it is in Jan!! I learned my lesson the hard way.

Early May was good last year. We just went for a weekend deal, got there late Friday and left Sunday afternoon, but the crowds were low and the weather was nice.

Early May is generally a great time - pre-Mother's Day, post Spring Break - and the weather is wonderful here around then.

You might want to check the Conventions schedule, but there is always something going on, so it's any good a time as any imo.

We're planning the first weekend of May, but it's also going to be Bats Day(s) and I believe the Food and Wine weekend. I've never been on Bats Day, so I don't know how much that affects the crowds.

I think May is a perfect time to go. Sept and Jan may be less crowded, but Sept is hot and Jan is cold. May is usually lovely. My only complaint about May is that we like to stay on site and there are usually no hotel deals in May like Jan & Sept. Even so, we are going the first weekend of May - it's an early Mother's Day gift to me from my DH & DD. Wasn't that considerate of me to book the trip for them?
