Hi all, it's been a while! It's been a busy old year - new job, new house, new baby but we are now planning a new trip next May with all the family :) this trip is going to be a big one as we've managed to convince the whole family to come - there will be 11 of us in total and we have booked 2x 3 bed villas at the Mariott village for 7 nights in May. I've wanted to stay here for some time but there never seemed to be availability when we wanted to go. Loads has changed at DlP since our last trip so I have a number of questions but I'll post those in separate threads. My nephew and niece are coming with us for the first time so I want to make the trip extra special! About the accommodation though - has anyone stayed here? If so could you help me out with some specifics? What facilities do the kitchens have? Is the food in the onsite restaurant any good? At what sort of price? Are the pools heated? I'm hoping that in late May we *might* be able to chance the outdoor pool! I'd be grateful of any info anyone has about this resort :) thanks :)

Hello!

We love the Marriott, have stayed there a few times.

The villas are beautiful, very big, really feel more like a home than a hotel. In the 3 bedroom villas you usually have downstairs the living area with the small kitchen, a dining room table (with 8 chairs if I remember right) and an area with sofas and the TV (with a DVD). There's also a toilet. In the kitchen you have a coffee machine, a dishwasher, an oven (a proper oven), a microwave, and the stove of course. I think there's a toaster as well, but can't remember. The fridge is a proper fridge, with plenty of room. You have lots of pots and pans, plates, glasses... And then there's a washing machine and a dryer, very useful!!

Upstairs are the bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom (with a lovely bath), and another bathroom and toilet.

The outside pool, if I remember right, is not heated (the indoors one is). We were there once in May, it was a bit chilly for me to go in the outside pool, but we did sit outside in the sunshine, it was lovely.

The hotel grounds are beautiful, lots of gardens, and a few playgrounds as well.

The hotel shop is not bad. Not cheap (but there's a supermarket down the road from the resort, 2 minutes by car, and of course the big Auchan in Val d'Europe). They do have some nice croissants and bread and things for breakfast, for instance. We usually bought our main groceries in the bigger shops, and went to the shop in the hotel for emergency supplies or last minute treats ;) Never ate in the restaurant, though, always in the villa (or a restaurant in Val d'Europe or the parks).

I'm sure you'll have a brilliant time. And if you have any other questions about the hotel, don't hesitate :)

It sounds like a nice place! We tried to book a room for next summer using points as soon as we knew our dates (booking airline flights 11 months out), but they were already sold out.

Thank you so much for the info it's really helpful :) so can I just ask are there two sitting areas then? Also I know they advertise as sleeping 8 - do you know where the sofa bed is? (I'm presuming it's a sofa bed?) did you use the bar at all in the evening? Was it expensive? Can you walk to the local village? I'm so sorry for all the questions! Kevin I was so determined this year to book the Mariott! As sad as it was I worked out when it would go on sale and made sure I booked on that day! With 11 of us going I was worried about the cost of the amount of hotel rooms we would need otherwise ! I don't think we could have afforded the trip otherwise!

There's a sitting area with sofas (including a sofa bed that sleeps two), by the TV. Then there's the dining table area, there's a big table with chairs. Oh, and then you have the outside bit, of course, there's a terrace with table and chairs (small metal table, if I remember right). We were there once with our niece and nephew and they loved playing outside, we would sit in the terrace while they played on the grass.

We didn't use the bar at all, sorry (but I guess that, like any other hotel bar, it's probably on the expensive side)

You can walk to the little town next to the hotel. There's a little square with a couple of restaurants, the supermarket, a pharmacy, a boulangerie, etc very close to it. We're lazy and always took the car everywhere, but it's a very easy walk :) You can have a look in Google, they have street view for that area!

I found some pictures (hope these work)
