Height Woes

Let me just preferance this by saying that I understand the height rules on each attraction and I am NOT looking for a way around the rules. There just has to be a way to keep it consistent from attraction to attraction . . . right??

We have a 4 year old who is 40.0 inches exactly. So close he is measured everywhere . . . which again; we are fine with we understand the CM are doing their jobs. This weekend we headed to the Mouse and ended up at MGM for the concerts. On Sat we headed back to TOT to see if he was tall enough. The CM stated he was fine and so we rode it. (just for the record; he stated he loved the movie and the basement but doesn't want to go again b/c of the drops) So on Sun we headed to MK and rode Splash Mountain (with just a check in the beginning). Then we headed to BTM and were told he wasn't tall enough?? Of all the 3 we rode that were "big kid rides" he rides Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, and then gets denied on the calmest of all of them . . . it just didn't make any sense.

Getting denied is fine; I am glad they are doing their jobs and making sure we are all safe. I just get frustrated when it isn't consistent. I don't want to "sneak" him on attrations or have him measured over and over again.

A friend who was a CM in the past mentioned that they have wrist bands that can be given to the child to verify the height was checked and confirmed. She stated that the CM's don't like to dig them out b/c they are a pain. It sure would make more sense then just going on the discretion of each CM.

Anyone know anything about the wristbands?

After doing a quick google search I found that this is a pretty new program. I would suggest going to the front gate of the park you are in for the day and asking a CM. I'd assume that the place to ask in MK is Town Hall (directly to your right after you pass under the Main Street train station).

Currently mine are all either definately over the height req for the ride they want or definately under. Though my oldest who is 4 in over the requirement for Expedition Everest thought it was great she had her hand stamped.

Busch Gardens does the wrist band thing. Not everyone stops to get it done but since they have SO many different requirements for their rides it really is easier to get a pink (or blue or green or...) wristband and know right off what they can or can't ride. I didn't see any wrist bands in the World in Aug but will be back in Dec. I agree with the pp that town hall or the inside guest Relations would be a good place to ask.

I would love to know any info about the wristbands because I have a 4 1/2 year old who has been eating her meals on the threat that if she doesn't she won't be tall enough to ride certain rides. She has finally hit exactly 40" without tennis shoes, but she has a real baby face. In fact she still gets offered high chairs at restaurants, so I'm sure the site of her coming up to TT will have measuring sticks flying out. The wristbands would save so much time.

we were there 9/3 thru 9/10 and never saw a wrist band. We had a 3 yr old who is either right at 40 inches or almost an inch under, depending on which ride she was being measured at. I mentioned to several cm's that the Paramount park near us uses the colored coded wrist bands and it made it much easier for everyone to have her measured just once. They all said they wished Disney would come up with something like that so they wouldn't have to argue with parents! Has anyone here actually gotten the wristband?

My DS was probably about 41inches when we first took him to WDW. The CM"s were always surprised he made the height, I guess it's the baby face! I didn't find it a pain, I guess for us it was easier as we knew he was tall enough. On Kali River Rapids he got something to say he needed to sit in a particular seat because of his height (I can't remember if it was a hand stamp or a wristband)

My daughter is right at 41" and we got measured on almost every ride over and over again. The only ride she got a wristband for was Kali River Rapids. I'm pretty sure that was just so the could see how many special seats they needed on our raft. The CM put the wristband on and then stamped KALI over it and on her arm.

For all other rides, she just had to try to stand under the wooden bar. At one ride (I think it was Test Track), she got measured again when we got to the front.
