Height restrictions for resort pool Slides?

Just wondering if there are height restictions on the slides at the resorts? We're booked into POFQ and DD2 (will be 2 years, 8 mo) is a waterslide fanatic. She's currently 36" maybe 37".

Will she be allowed on the waterslide? If not, will I be able to go down with her? I just read conflicting info on that.

We're just making big decisions about our resort stay and if DD can't go on the slide that will be a HUGE factor in our decision.

Thanks!

There's no height restriction, but most lifeguards won't allow you to go down the slide with her. You could go down first and be waiting for her at the bottom of the slide. She can ride the slides with a life vest on, which are available to be checked out at the resort pools.

Ok that's good info to have! She'll be fine going down the slide on her own... I guess this doesn't help with my decision to switch resorts! :rotfl:

Sorry! I can't help you with that decision outside of saying that POFQ is my favorite moderate. Plus, being a sister resort to POR, this is one of the few cases where you can use the pools at both resorts.

POFQ is the perfect resort for your 2 yr old. Doubloon Lagoon is the most tamest slide.. The slide ends at 3'6" pool. I can't swim, but I went down the pool anyway.. I was a little scared at first.. but it was nothing to it.. The slide was not steep at all.. It goes pretty slow. :) I think there are more 3'6-4 feet area than 5ft. I'm 5'1"... and so I can roam a little bit more in this pool. I think other pools have more 4-5 feet.

I'll second Fantasia's position that the POFQ slide is good for little kids. You can always see your child (well, except when they are at the top and are shorter than the side barriers). Some of the slides are so long you can't see your child or else the entry and the exit are not close together. I think POFQ has the red light/green light system (but it's been awhile since we stayed there). If it does, you should explain to your child when it is safe to start down the slide. Also explain that sometimes you have to wait in line. Often there are little kids who just move to the front of the line and it upsets the older children. It's completely understandable because of the cognitive functions between a 2-4 year old and older children, but the older kids don't get it. If a younger child is told to wait their turn, they will without the adult having to stay up there with them (sometimes it gets chilly in the breeze waiting for your turn).

I agree with most of what you - except this. All the times I've been to WDW, I've always seen the opposite. Usually - quite often- there is a group of somewhat older boys who cut the line. They also igore the green light, go down the slide backwards, use inappropiate language, etc. UGH!

Once at CR, the boys were even shoving everyone on the stairs!:scared1: (Okay that time an older girl was also involved, but it was the boys who weer initiating it!)

I think the slide at POFQ is a great choice for a child that age.

One pool I would avoid is the Boardwalk. The current at the bottom is really strong and the water is too deep to stand. Most of the pool is quite deep.

The pool at AKL Jambo would also be a great pick for you. You'll appreciate the zero depth entry.

Then again the AKL Kidani pool complex is amazing. I've never been inside, but it looks really neat. The CBR complex is similar. Again, I haven't been in since the redo, but it looked amazing when we saw it.

The splash parks are also reallly great for kids that age, but some of the best are at the values which have no water slides.

I haven't been down the water slide at CBR, but if the pool is a high priority in a mod and youcan't get POFQ, maybe try that one. the resort is quite large- the downside of CBR. the food court was quite good, and I like the bright colors.
