I noticed that a height requirment of 44" was required for many of the big rides we would like to go on in wdw. My question is when I measure my daughter without shoes on she is 43 3/4" and with shoes on she is 44 1/2". Do you think she will be allowed to get on those rides?

Our son was very close when we went 2 years ago. Bought him the highest shoes we could find and even put cushions in them to give him an extra little boost. He had no problems at all. ::MinnieMo

The height restrictions are for the safety of your child and so that you won't sue Disney if your child is not properly restrained in the seat and they go flying out of the seat.

If you child isn't tall enough, don't try to fudge it. You'd hate to have anything terrible happen to your child, wouldn't you?

And most CMs are pretty smart and look out for tall shoes, hats and tall hairdos.

According to my guide book the height restriction for all bar one (of the "big " rides) is 40" ,the exception being RRRC which has a 49" restriction,as this does loop the CMs will be quite strict with the height requirement. We have seen some up set children & very irate parents -ranting & raving - it's worth remembering that they are only doing their job & that if something goes wrong,it's their neck on the line.
Don't know if you intend to do IOA but the big coasters there are 54"!

When I took my kids in january, I thought my daughter was about 42" and my son maybe 38". Turns out that in WDW, they can be generous with those measuring sticks. They were both tall enough to ride just about anything and I did have to put my foot down a couple of times eg. Mission Space for DD. On the other hand, please don't expect to get on just because you did already. My DS rode Splash Mountain with me but when he tried to go with Daddy was told he was too short, even though he was still wet from ride 1. A very dissapointed little boy had to be consoled with Aladdin's Flying Carpets (not the same at all but a good diversion).

Good luck and don't push your kids into doing stuff they don't want to, my kids just happen to be thrillseekers whose favourite ride is now Tower of Terror ;)
