Didn't they change this recently? My ds is 58 inches without shoes (gotta see what he is with shoes). I can't find it on their website. I think he's a ways off from being able to ride in front if I remember correctly. He used to love the front, but if he's too short he'll like the middle! LOL

DS8 has always sat in front too, he will be so sad if he can't I want to say that old thread said 5ft. Which means DS11 will get to go in front, all I know is I am not going in front:lmao:

my dd wanted to sit so badly in the front. She is 48 inches, maybe a inch or two over now. My dh sat in the front and could barely see her in the picture. Mind you that dh is 6'3. I am scared even to sit in the back myself.

Gee, I'm 5'3". I just barely make being able to sit in the front, not that I want to though! LOL

So I measured him with shoes on, he's 59 inches with shoes on. Shoot! That's like one inch short! I wonder if he'll grow that much before June 1st! LOL

When we went last week, my DD's friend asked to sit up front. She was too short so they told her to sit in the second seat and left the first seat open.

I hope they do the same when DD6 rides for the first time. :) I really want to buy the photo, but there won't be any point if we can't even see her in it! :sad2:

The reason being is that DL doesn't want young children to duck underneath the front section during the Fall, which would result in recoil hurting the neck.

Oh I never knew why they changed it. I wonder if that happened, since Splash has been open for years and years already without this new rule.

Didnt they just release that rule until further notice?

They enforced it last week when we were on it. I am 4'11" myself- and if I would have pressed the issue, I suspect the CM would have let me sit in front. But DH sat in front instead, and when you get a big heavy person in the front seat- watch out! That makes everyone else get soaked!

But yeah, it meant DS 8 isn't even visible in the picture... you see DH, then DD, and me- but no DS at all. :sad1: I bought the picture anyway since it was a birthday trip...

I think it's really nice that they did that. :) The safety rule is the most important, but making that picture possible is great too. :)

Absolutely safety is most important. I just wonder if it is because kids can duck under the front section, why they just not put up a cushioned bar or two to prevent that? Seems more logical then making a 5' requirement (which a lot of adults won't make! LOL).

Just doesn't make much sense to me when my ds can go on Screamin (he's 11 inches over that requirement) and TOT (he's over 19 inches for that one!). :confused3

Hopefully they have plans to fix the problem so that such a requirement won't need to be permanent.

The saftey issue make me wonder why it was ok last year........in October for him to sit in front. It will be ok , DS11 gets front on spalsh and DSsoon to be 9 will get front on the Matterhorn!

They do not have the new rule at WDW and on our trip two weeks ago my 9 year old was sitting in the front alone(usually his sister was sitting next to him) and ducked at the end of the big fall to avoid the wave. He hit his head on the seat and came off the ride with a big goose egg over his eye.

This is absolutely crazy!!! :headache: The front seat is my favorite seat and I am also like 4'11 and I will be darned if they wont let me sit in my favorite seat. Im gonna have to invest in some nice runners that give a bit of height. :rotfl:

Just insist you are 5' when they start looking at you with a skeptical eye!! My DH was teasing me and telling the CM how I didn't meet the requirement. I don't think they would have measured me or anything. For crying out loud I've got to be close to five feet wearing shoes! And I'm not a kid who is going to duck... and I'm not that flexible anymore anyway:rotfl:

I will totally be up for telling them I am 5 feet. hehehe what us adults have to do some times :headache: :rotfl:
