We were there a couple of weeks ago and saw lots of kids wearing Heelys.

actually the other thread has been locked, and some people may be new! be nice. it took me quite a while to learn how to use the search feature.

ya know, it never fails. people become attached to the boards they are on and heaven forbid new people ask simple questions.

seriously people, is saying "no they are not allowed" really that difficult?

when we were there in jan, there were a bunch of kids with them on. some times i found them kind of annoying (like when you're walking and some kid just goes zooming by you without respect to the fact that you are walking), but they really don't bother me much. the one thing i did see more of were tired kids being pulled on their heelys. that was actually kind of funny.

I heard from someone that kids can't wear there Heelys in Disney World. Does any one know if this is true? I can understand for liability reasons if they are banned from the parks. But I wanted to know if this was a rumor or if it was true. My boys love their Heelys.

i hope your kids enjoy the "heelies". but please PLEASE leave them at home. this is very true. CEDAR POINT has banned heelies too. in fact most theme parks have banned them. disney seems to be one of the only places to stick to this rule so far. with the way people like to sue sue sue disney is just keeping the leachs(lawyers) at bay. betr safe then sorry.

They may NOT be allowed -most CM's tell the kids no wheels as they enter a ride,but I never saw someone tell a child no heelys as they wheeled their way down a ramp

if a kid is using heelies going down a ramp and falls is it disneys fault the kid or someone else gets hurt? the answer is no but as far as the blood suckers are concerned the are. heelies are just skates or rollerblades. sojust please PLEASE LEAVE THEM AT HOME!!!!!!!!!! try to respect others in the park as you want to be respected. (putting on the flame suit an getting in a flame proof cement building) lets just say this for an idea. your kids is having fun at WDW is day 5 of 7 and it has been magical. then at MGM you see TIGGER or GOOFY and your kids wants to get a photo with them. all of a sudden another kid with heelies on hits someone in your family and theparents of the "heelies" kid blames you and yor family. this is worst case though. who's fault? disney or heelies kid? some thing to pouder over!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the information about the Heelys. They will stay in the suitcase for the week at Disney. The kids can use them for our last week in Florida with family. I worry about my boys crashing in to someone. My little guy isn't quite as proficient as my older boy. Sorry to all those who have said I should have "Search- ED" Mostly I stay on the DVC boards and when I posted about Heelys on one of the DVC boards they sent my post to this one. Didn't realize that some of you aren't as friendly as the people on the DVC boards.

It's not that they aren't as friendly, it's just the Heely's happen to be a very touchy subject. Don't take it personally, we're really very friendly here!

My 9yr. old DD just got brand new ones from her dad. I told her right away to not even think about skating in the parks..........As a matter of fact, every morning, before we leave for the parks, she will be handing over her wheels to me!! I can't stand those stupid things, and I'll have not have one of MY kids acting like a jerk wheeling through crowds......just doing my part raising my kids

And us who have seen toddlers knocked on their butts at Targets by kids on those $#%^ things applaud you.


I can't wait to see what it's going to be like in May with ppl sneaking them in...

I emailed disney last month to ask them this and they said sorry, heely's are not allowed. I saw alot of kids wearing them though. My daughter is a strict rule follower and it was her idea to email and ask.

Good for her!!!

Too bad not all kids are like that (mine included)...sadder still that not many parents seem to have this attribute, either.

Bottom line is, this DOES affect others, and it might be injurous to both one's kids and those around them. PLUS it's against the rules of WDW, which is a private entity...and THAT makes it a violation of Florida law.

When we were there in November 2005 we didn't see one kid using Heely's. What a difference a year and a half makes.

God bless the person who won't let her daughter wear these blasted things. I'm so tired of being in shopping malls and having to dodge out of the way while kids zoom by me. I've taken now to just keep walking if the kid gets in my way that's their problem!

They shouldn't be allowed to wear shoes with wheels on them in a place where I can't wear rollerblades.
