Heely's not allowed in Parks

If these are against the rules at grocery stores, and I see one come flying down the isle about to mess something up or hit someone, I WILL NOT hesitate to push my bugee out so they hit it. .

:scared1: I hate the things too, but I would never, ever want to create a situation where a child could get hurt, no matter how annoying they may be :sad2:

Those kids had to start breaking small rules that were over looked because they were "frivilous", before they went on to the ones that weren't over looked. If those kids had been taught that ALL rules big or little are meant to be followed and what would happen if they broke said rules. You might not see them in your court at all!

Alas, it is not as simple as that. Most of the kids I see have major socio-economic factors which contribute to their behavioral problems. Ironically, contrary to your point, I have seen numerous kids in court who come from rather privaleged backgrounds and have parents who are extremely strict and who punish them harshly for every little rule infraction. Hence, they end up being angry and rebellious kids who act out against their obsessive controlling parents by getting into real trouble.

Also, although I do not practice in Fla., it apears that Independent is correct in her interpretation of the law and that it is within WDW's discretion to allow or disallow Heely's in their park. :rolleyes1

ETA, FYI, Imagine Ears, if you did you'd be risking a criminal battery charge or a lawsuit, whether or not the heely's were against the rules. Just so ya know....

Listen Independant,

I really dont know why you are turning this into such a debate. You know what you think you know and we will just leave it at that.
Dont bother to respond again, as I have to go down now and have a look around for some Heely wearing law breakers ;)

Have a nice weekend.

Thanks Sawyer! I guess I do know what I think I know.

Hope you all had a great weekend and wonderful Easter (for those of you who celebrate)! :goodvibes

I am no fan of Heelys in public, but the day I take time out of my vacation to go tattle on some kid is the day I'd like to be shot in the head.
:cool1: well said :cool1:

Well, after being hit by a child on Heelies on my last Disney vacation, I will tattle on kids I see wearing them. Disney has a no heelies policy. I don't want my next vacation spent with a great big bruise on hip and thigh. ;)

for my 2 cents worth .... I've not been exposed to the Heeley phenomenon yet but having had my ankles bashed by shopping carts at least twice every trip to the supermarket, almost getting my legs chopped off by various people wheeling around heavy out of control luggage trolleys at airports each time we're in one, and often, pretty much anywhere you go with kids around - being barged into by kids running, tripping and playing from all directions.

like I say I've not expereinced the Heeley force as yet but with those listed above the Heeleys just join a list of things that "annoy" us rather than are a total blight on society.

I simply would not allow my kids to wear them in a public space like that as they know their tractors and bikes are for home use only - not in parks, malls or shops.

Its absoloutely the parents fault .... its unsociable, and unnecessary - your kids can wear Heeleys ANY time they want at home and in your yard, on your driveway ... of course some will skate around like loonies as the parents haven not instilled any sense of respect for others or boundaries as to what is fun AND acceptable.

is there not enough to keep them happy at WDW that they MUST also wear their Heeleys? as someone else stated - stop being selfish and grasp the bigger picture. And if your kids pressurise you into letting them wear them - you're not being a proper parent.

Heeleys are great, for home, for your driveway, for your cul-de-sac. I mean you wouldnt stroll around Disney stark naked just coz its "fun" to do at home - so why cant you do it there! (well I hope you dont anyway)!:rotfl:

Heely's were invented by the devil!!!:rotfl2:

Just to let you folks know, I was at the Parks last weekend and saw heely's everywhere! This is destined to be another stupid rule that Disney wouldn't dare have the CM's enforce despite the fact that many people seem to think they are destined to be the downfall of American civilization as we know it.

Does anyone know if they make heely's for adults???:rotfl:

Yes they do. I know a family where the dad got a pair so he could "glide" as he pushed his daughter's wheelchair popcorn::
