Heavy Wind Damage To My House In NJ

Anyone is MorrisCounty avoid Rt 46 fairfield/pinebrook area. My friend has been sitting in bumper to bumper traffic from fairfield since 3:00pm and has only hit pine brook.

Nassau County, Long Island checking in :wave2:

Minimal damage at my house - one of the side gates came off its post, found my missing deck chair in my neighbor's yard, still looking for my garbage can!

Some of my neighbors weren't so lucky - just driving down the block I saw three HUGE old, oak trees down. One was leaning against the roof - couldn't see how much damage and another took up half the sidewalk with it.

I live across the street from an elementary school - and was surprised at how quiet it was this morning. Turns out the school still hasn't gotten the power back and they cancelled classes. (These poor kids are having their Easter break shortened to begin with - due to the snow - so here's another day they have to make up.)

My sister (also on Long Island) has a friend who's trampoline wound up on her neighbor's roof :scared1:

What a mess

Yeah here in PA we lost a shingle and both hinges of our storm door.

...the hospital - it's either in Edgewater or North Bergen, down there by he Hudson...you know, the hospital, where you go in for a hang nail, and never come out alive....

Hahaha! yeah that is North Bergen. Wow! I didn't see the flooding there, but I have never seen that parking lot. So scary.

An adjuster came yesterday to look at our roof. Since only the entire front of the house roof is damaged, they will only give estimates to replace only the front of the house. Since I have a high deductible, $2500, looks like I might have to pay most out of pocket. Its ok. DH was putting off replacing the roof, now we have to. No water damage to the top floor since we had roof on top of roof. Some of our neighbors won't so lucky. The company that came representing NJ Mfg Inc, was Atlantic Restorations. I live in South Amboy NJ.

We'll probably come in around $20,000 for our losses, not counting the content of the basement that's not covered. We haven't even seen an appraiser yet. Going through all old paperwork to make sure we documented everything after the last flood so we get paid for everything that was damaged for this flood. I hate this.:sad2:

Sorry to all of you that had damage!

I had to go to a seminar in Chicago from Thursday to Monday so I was gone during this whole mess. I live in Clifton and so do my parents (about 10 minutes from each other). DH said that our house was fine and just a tree at the park down the street from us fell down. But my parents lost power for 2 days and said some of their neighbors got water in their basements (thankfully my parents didn't).
