Hi. We will be on our first cruise Feb. 26th and on the Dream. I am wanting to know if the pools/slides are heated? Is the ocean temp cold? The weather channel says the average temp is 77 this time of the year. Can anyone confirm or answer any of these questions. Thanks

From the DCL Dream pool's webpage:

"Fun Facts & Tips
The swimming pools on Disney ships are heated when the water temperature drops below 75 degrees."

The AquaDuck also has heated water.

HTH's!

thanks! I am new to this site as well and haven't learned where to find all of the info. Do you have any info about the ocean temps? We have rented floats/tubes for CC. Hope the water is warm enough.

Average air temps are mid to upper 70's while average water temps are low to mid 70's during that time. If I were you, I would not pre-reserve the tubes. I would wait until you are on the island and rent them then. No extra cost and little chance there won't be any available. Then if you have not so great weather or cooler than expected water temps, you aren't out money for tubes you may not use.

They have quite a few tubes. I've been on lots of DCL cruises and have never heard of someone wanting one and not being able to get one. But I'm sure it might have happened or could happen. If you really want to do it in advance, wait until you are on the ship and pretty confident about the weather (ask the shore excursion people about the water temps from their prior stop.)

We live in Florida and the pools are heated the aqua duck is not heated and cc was freezing for us but we live in Florida. Next year we are getting wet suits.

I was wondering this too, we are going on the DVC Member Cruise next January. I'm going to bring my swimming suit, knowing at AT LEAST use it in the hot tub...but I'm not sure about dipping in the ocean! Here's hoping for above-average temps! :goodvibes

Oh goodness, I haven't really thought about this. We're going on an early March cruise and have booked the waverunner excursion. I'm not much for cold water, so I'm hoping it won't be miserable. Surely being with Disney in the Bahamas with lots of sun will make us so happy that a little cold ocean water will still be a blast!!

Last time i went to CC it was May so it was plenty warm but i have found that in cold pool or ocean that after a few mins. it feels fine.

I'm really hoping the weather/water is warm enough over Easter weekend - two days at CC and the beach in Nassau won't be much fun (and I really need a tan) if its too cool!!

Anyone have experience with water/air temps at this time of year?

I don't know about the water temp but the weather will definitely be warm/hot. I've been keeping track for my upcoming cruise and it's been in the high 70's/low 80's for the past month (at least). It will be even warmer in April. I'm sure the water will be a bit warmer by then too.

Thanks everyone. I went online to the Disney website to try to "un-reserve the tubes" and I couldn't figure it out. Guess I am going to have to make a phone call. Not too happy about the cold ocean, I was hoping for a great beach day at CC. My fault though b/c I didn't think about it when I booked the cruise. So what else can you do a CC without getting wet? We have a 3 and 7 yo.

71-74°F is good for the ocean!

You could have a look at the DCL website and select Castaway Cay for info!

If you want opinions on certain activities then member's on here will be able to answer them!
But no-one on here can make that decision or choice for you!

The DIS is a great place to find out more info and reviews on what to do, what not to do, what to definitely see, and what to defiantly to miss or may miss, and how to make your cruise a lot smoother and be prepared!

We went to CC last year around mid-March. The weather was beautiful. Probably upper 70s/low 80s. I hate cold water and had a very hard time getting in the ocean. I wanted to snorkel so bad, so my DH encouraged me to get in. It was cold for a while. So cold it was a little hard to catch our breath. It took a good 15 minutes to get used to it during our snorkel and there was no way I would go back in after getting out. This year we are bringing shorty 3mm wet suits. I hope we can enjoy it more. We are from Houston, so we aren't used to the cold.

We went to CC in June one year and the water was a little cold getting in, but we got used to it pretty quickly. I had no problem in June getting in and out of the ocean.
