Heat, Humidity, and Our Favorite Disney Dog Was a Thug! LINK TO NEW PTR!!

so many wonderful things in this update!! where to start?

those clouds are pretty, but weird. wonder what was going on over there...

I LOVE your sparkly shoes! so pretty! I never wear heels because I seriously can NOT walk in them. I never wore them when I was younger because I was 5' 8" in 5th grade and had a complex about towering over everyone as it was. now I'm so used to tennis shoes and flats I'm pretty sure I'd break my neck if I tried to do heels....but they sure are pretty!

love all the pictures of willow acting out the songs for you--so cute! especially the one where she's watching the turtle talk show so intently. and all the pictures from animators palette! I saw something about it on a show about Disney cruises and knew I wanted to try it, but now I'm even more excited about it! it looks so neat in there!

that baked potato soup and chicken look so good! now I'm hungry....

aaannnndd.....another empty chair! (which is super cute by the way! would they miss a couple if they mysteriously disappeared when we were there? :p ) more quiet time for mom--always a good thing! what a great night!

ALADDIN SHOW! The Aladdin show at DCA is my absolute favorite theme park show, so I hope the cruise version was just as fantastic :thumbsup2

That is so awesome about the Disney music, and the miming is just adorable.

I want to own one of those chairs!!! Or a whole set. Too bad they're probably a million dollars each.

 I feel awful I am Soooo far behind, I will catch up promise, just know I think of you two ALL the time ...hope you know that :flower3:

Wonderful update!!
Those clouds looked ominous. I love to sit out and watch storms roll in. But I bet you never even got a drop of rain. Somehow the captains seem to always steer clear of those nasty problems.

How fun that Willow acted out the songs for you. ;) Did it help you out?

Loved the dishes in AP. So cute!! I hope the food tasted better than the appearance. Willow's peas next to her macaroni looked a little shriveled. :confused3

You are making me want to check out a cruise some day. But it sure would be hard for me to want to give up the resorts at WDW.

I know I am REALLY late to the game but I have read all of your TR this morning and I just love it! I am taking my son for the first time to WDW this August and then we are doing the Dream in January. I have enjoyed the prospective of just the two of you as that is how we will be as well. I love the shots of the empty chair when Willow went off to the Kids Clubs...I expect that too! Did you request to be seated with just the two of you? I can't decide if I like that or to be placed with another similar family of travelers. I also LOVE the name Willow! That was one of my names if I had a girl but I ended up with an Elijah :) And as fate would have it, we adopted a beagle from the pound and guess what name she already came with... :) Although your Willow is much prettier than mine! Can't wait the read the rest!!

So I was totally torn between going to Hawaii (Aulani) or doing a Disney Cruise for our honeymoon.... and now I'm basically totally convinced that I want the cruise. Formal night totally swayed me! Love all the characters you guys were able to meet! That Cinderella one is priceless, although I do love Minnie's second dress! :thumbsup2

How fun is it to see your choices for the evening and then to see that you got to do completely different things. :rotfl2:
Right????

It`s so cute that Willow "interpreted" the songs for you. She is quite something. ;)
She was really enjoying that Disney music - she knows all the songs within just a couple of notes.

On the contrary to you, we shy away from Animator's during the regular show with Crush. It gets so loud in there.
I can see how you would feel that way. We had never seen it before, so it was really fun for us.

Oh, and btw ..........

These are for sale! Plates and knives! :lmao: And they even go for a reasonable price - well, what Disney thinks is reasonable.
How do I know? We got the plates and knives to prove it. :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: I believe I did see them in one of the shops, but somehow I had it in my head that they were ridiculously expensive. I guess I will have to check them out more carefully next time!!!

I might have a problem when we go on our cruise...with every picture all I could think was I want it, no I want that. How cute are those plates, knives and bread basket? The chairs too...but even I will admit, that might be a little overkill in my house!
They definitely had the cutest stuff at AP. I was just going snap-happy with my camera.

Animator's Palate seems really interesting and I bet the "show" part keeps the kids entertained. I had to laugh at the picture of your appetizer, I hope it was better than it looked!
 That may be one of the worst food pics I have ever taken. It was actually a very nice app. :confused3

I loved the picture of the empty chair, a little time to relax and enjoy your dessert!
Yep - it was very nice, and it was nice that she wanted me to pick her up when I was done too. :thumbsup2

Somehow I got behind, but all caught up again now!!! I have an unexpected day home from work because of an ice storm....so what better to do than DIS!!:lmao:
Hey there! I hope the weather clears for you soon. We have been miserable here too, but today, it all kind of broke up, and we saw a little blue sky and the temps got into the 50s! :scared1:

I just love this cruise report...I have never been over to the cruise board because I will probably never go on one....but this is GREAT!!! Willow is soooo cute! She seems to really be enjoying herself!!
Oh, thank you so much! I am really enjoying reliving it with everyone. Willow really, really enjoys the cruises. The Fantasy became her dream vacation the first time she heard about it.

so many wonderful things in this update!! where to start?
 There's just so much to do and see on those ships!

those clouds are pretty, but weird. wonder what was going on over there...
I was fascinated with them - obviously, by my bazillion photos. I'm sure it was some big storm in the distance - there were nights that I could see lightening off in the distance too. I love the way the ships just steer around the storms (when possible, obviously). :woohoo:

I LOVE your sparkly shoes! so pretty! I never wear heels because I seriously can NOT walk in them. I never wore them when I was younger because I was 5' 8" in 5th grade and had a complex about towering over everyone as it was. now I'm so used to tennis shoes and flats I'm pretty sure I'd break my neck if I tried to do heels....but they sure are pretty!
 I have terrible feet - almost all shoes are uncomfortable. Those were deadly, but I couldn't resist them for the minimal walking on formal night. ;)

love all the pictures of willow acting out the songs for you--so cute! especially the one where she's watching the turtle talk show so intently. and all the pictures from animators palette! I saw something about it on a show about Disney cruises and knew I wanted to try it, but now I'm even more excited about it! it looks so neat in there!
It was a really neat spot for dinner that night - Willow really, really enjoyed the show. ::yes::

that baked potato soup and chicken look so good! now I'm hungry....
They were both very tasty. Wishing I had some right now…...

aaannnndd.....another empty chair! (which is super cute by the way! would they miss a couple if they mysteriously disappeared when we were there? :p ) more quiet time for mom--always a good thing! what a great night!
Aren't the chairs adorable????

ALADDIN SHOW! The Aladdin show at DCA is my absolute favorite theme park show, so I hope the cruise version was just as fantastic :thumbsup2
We really enjoyed the show. We haven't seen the one at CA yet - you know, getting Willow to slow down for a show at a Disney park is not easy. I'm hoping we will see it in August! :thumbsup2

That is so awesome about the Disney music, and the miming is just adorable.
It was really funny - she knew the songs so immediately that I could never get one before she did. Sometimes I couldn't even get them when she acted them out. :rotfl2:

I want to own one of those chairs!!! Or a whole set. Too bad they're probably a million dollars each.
Right???

No worries - I'm behind on your thread too. :goodvibes

Exactly! I loved seeing the storms off in the distance.

How fun that Willow acted out the songs for you. ;) Did it help you out?
It did! Most of the time - sometimes I still couldn't get it.

Loved the dishes in AP. So cute!! I hope the food tasted better than the appearance. Willow's peas next to her macaroni looked a little shriveled. :confused3
The food really was quite good - my pics did not do it justice that night. :sad2:

You are making me want to check out a cruise some day. But it sure would be hard for me to want to give up the resorts at WDW.
That's why we did both! Seriously - I couldn't fathom going all the way to Florida and not going to WDW. Definitely not the kind of vacation we could do all the time, but totally awesome!

I know I am REALLY late to the game but I have read all of your TR this morning and I just love it! I am taking my son for the first time to WDW this August and then we are doing the Dream in January. I have enjoyed the prospective of just the two of you as that is how we will be as well. Welcome!!! Never too late! Heck I have only finished the first full day of the cruise and have a whole separate Disneyland report to add. :rotfl2:

How exciting that you are taking your son for his first trip and a cruise a little later! The two of you will have the most wonderful time. :woohoo:

I actually did request that we be seated by ourselves. I was a bit town about it because it would have been nice to have some adults to talk to. It worked out well though - it would have felt awkward when Willow deserted me, and I would have felt obnoxious to pull out my book, but I really wanted to enjoy my book in those moments when I was alone.

 Too funny about your almost-Willow and the current one!

So I was totally torn between going to Hawaii (Aulani) or doing a Disney Cruise for our honeymoon.... and now I'm basically totally convinced that I want the cruise. Formal night totally swayed me! Oh, you will love doing a DCL cruise! Are you thinking the 7-day on the Fantasy, then? The formalwear characters are just fantastic!

Another fantastic update!
I love Willow interpreting the music for you! Really cute! Animator’s Palate wow! Amazing! Dinner looked yummy. And I loved your sparkly formal shoes!

Some Breakfast and Some Characters

Monday, August 19, 2013
Sunrise: 6:07AM
Sunset: 6:50PM
Port: Grand Cayman
Evening Attire: Cruise Casual
All Ashore: 10:45AM
Last Tender: 4:30PM
Monday: Partly Sunny, High of 82
Tuesday: Party Cloudy, High of 84

Despite our late bedtime, Willow was awake at 7:30 this morning (4:30 our time). :scared1: I tried to get her to go back to bed, because I knew this was not going to bode well. But she started acting like she was going to die if she didn’t get something to eat. A huge show! (I will note here that, when we got to breakfast, she really didn’t eat much of anything.) We headed out at about 8:30. We had decided to try a table-service breakfast this morning at Royal Court. We zipped down the stairs to Deck 3.

I love the way the floor design outside of Animator’s Palate features a paint brush and pencil!

We tried again for that perfect porthole picture. :confused3

We were happy to be dining at the beautiful Royal Court!

Willow was very happy to start with a donut! Let’s be honest - she didn’t eat much else.

Her actual breakfast (with pancakes and waffles perfectly cut by the server) actually looked very tasty though, didn’t it?

Mine was yummy too!

We were studying the Navigator over breakfast - there were going to be a lot of characters out this morning, and we needed to prioritize: Jake, Stitch, Woody, Goofy, Captain Hook would all be out between 9:30 and 10:15. :scared1:

We headed out of Royal Court at a little past 9:30 and right into the atrium where most of the character meets were happening (they also do meets in the balcony on Deck 4 right above the atrium).

There were a LOT of people wanting to meet characters this morning before getting off the ship in Grand Cayman.

Willow was having a really hard time deciding which line to get in. In addition to those listed in the Navigator, Phineas and Ferb were also out. Finally, she decided on Lilo and Stitch, and we got in a VERY long line to wait, which meant that we really didn’t have time to do any of the other meets this morning. But these pics turned out really cute!

Hey look! Land!

This was our first day at a port. I am not sure that I have mentioned this before, but we had decided to enjoy the Fantasy this trip and not do any port adventures. So we were pretty excited that a good number of the other passengers would be getting off the ship and we would be able to enjoy some of her amenities without so many people around.

Up Next: Some Pool Time

Land Ahead ! I would have opted to stay on and enjoy the ship too You know I owe you an apology..I can't tell you how many times I spelled your name when talking to you as Rhoni....not sure where that came from :rotfl2: ( and you never once corrected me )

Anyway off to work & when I get home in the morning I am coming right back here to catch up on your adventures :flower3:

Ruthie

Royal Court looks stunning and the food looks delicious! I took a Royal Caribbean cruise years ago and I always loved how the servers cut my food up for me :rotfl:

Adorable meet with Lilo and Stitch, and the borders are perfect!

Honestly, I couldn't see myself getting off the boat either. There are just so many great things to do on board and not having to deal with crowds sounds fantastic.

Cute before picture with willows doughnut. It looks like she's saying a little prayer of thanks to the genius who created doughnuts! and really, who could blame her?!? ;) it does always make me shake my head when our girls are throwing a fit because they're so hungry and when we feed them, they're full after 3 bites...

Wow! That is a lot of people waiting to meet characters...

I think staying on the ship sounds like an awesome idea!! I know part of the fun of the cruise is getting off at ports, but I wouldn't mind less crowded time on the ship!

Roni, I CANNOT believe, we were in the same dining room for breakfast and did not run into each other. :scared1:

Willow and her doughnut - that's one cute picture! :thumbsup2

I so can understand that you wanted to stay on the ship. We had been discussing the same thing, but thought that since we were on the ship for two weeks we would have enough time to check everything out. :rotfl2: What a mistake.

Willow and Lilo and Stitch, what a lovely photo again.

Willow and her donut - how cute! I think we've have all done a thank you prayer for a donut a time or two. :worship:

Wow! That is a lot of people waiting for characters. I can understand though since they are waiting to get off the ship as well. We've decided the same thing about the ports, let everyone else get off so we can enjoy the ship.

Can't wait to see what you all did while everyone else was gone!

Christine

Staying on board sounds like a good idea! I hope it worked out in your favor! My mom actually loved Grand Cayman when she took a cruise there several years ago (loved it the best out of all the islands they visited) so I'd be tempted to at least go check that one out! But a nearly empty ship sounds very tempting.... :scratchin

Willow's breakfast looks fantastic! I'm seriously considering going to IHOP for dinner now just so I can have some stinkin' pancakes! :rotfl2:

I will do whatever I need to do to get a Formal Night! :rotfl2:
:rotfl2:

Land Ahead ! I would have opted to stay on and enjoy the ship too You know I owe you an apology..I can't tell you how many times I spelled your name when talking to you as Rhoni....not sure where that came from :rotfl2: ( and you never once corrected me )
Really??? It is extremely odd that I didn't notice that! :rotfl2:

Anyway off to work & when I get home in the morning I am coming right back here to catch up on your adventures :flower3:
It's good to have you back, Ruthie. :goodvibes I really will get caught up on your thread as well. ::yes::

Royal Court looks stunning and the food looks delicious! I took a Royal Caribbean cruise years ago and I always loved how the servers cut my food up for me :rotfl:
 I love all those little special touches - fantastic service!

Adorable meet with Lilo and Stitch, and the borders are perfect!
I was very happy with the photo borders, which is a good thing since you have no choice but to have them on your pictures!

Honestly, I couldn't see myself getting off the boat either. There are just so many great things to do on board and not having to deal with crowds sounds fantastic.
I just wasn't really interested in doing these particular ports with a 6 year old. :confused3 And I knew we would both be tired of touring by the time we got on the ship and just be ready for some leisurely activities. It worked beautifully.
