Heat, Humidity, and Our Favorite Disney Dog Was a Thug! LINK TO NEW PTR!!

I really enjoy reading about your trip, strange as this may be your daughter and mine look so much alike in some of the pictures. She seems like she is a great traveler. pixiedust:
Hi there! And welcome! So glad you are reading alone.

Is your daughter around the same age? Fun, aren't they? And challenging.

It's great when you are just walking by and a show is about to start!
:thumbsup2 I'm guessing we would STILL have never seen a show at AK if our timing hadn't been that perfect.

All caught up! :-)
Hi Trisha! :thumbsup2

Love how your DD loves characters. My kiddos get a few autographs but really just get the ones when we do character dinning.
 I think that's much more normal!

You did a great job on her fairy costume!
Oh, thank you so much! I was really pleased with how it came out after all the hardship of making it.

Enjoying your TR!
Thanks! I hope you continue to follow along. :hippie:

We always skip the shows too, I don't know why, just do! The Lion King show looks great. My MIL took myself and sisters in law to see the Broadway version and it was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen!

This past trip was the first time we ever went to Camp Minnie Mickey and I was really impressed. I am sad at the idea of them going to make way for avatar land!

I am really impressed with how quickly you all got ready, my family does nothing quickly!:confused3

I did make all the little smocked sundresses and maxis! I actually did the smocking myself - it is very easy (I would be happy to share how if you want to PM me, although you could probably get a better tutorial on-line ), and the pre-smocked fabric seems way over-priced to me. Plus, this way, I could let Willow choose any fabric she wanted. :thumbsup2[/QUOTE]

That was my next question -- fabric! I wondered where you found all that cute Disney fabric already smocked. Thanks for the offer, I might take you up on that tutorial. I've got to finish a few Christmas gifts first. I'm making blankets for the girls' dolls for Christmas. They are just the fleece tie blankets and I would like to attempt a few pillowcase doll dresses as well. It just depends on if I can find a few hours without them around. Making them in the middle of the night isn't going to happen for me...

Christine

Love the dancing with baloo pic! It makes me want to sing the bare necessities! :rotfl: ok, let's just be honest, I AM singing the bare necessities!

The pics from FOTLK look so awesome! I really wanted to see it this trip since we've never been (and I'm kicking myself for skipping it last trip!) but it closes the day we get there in January.

Willows friends on the bed always look so cute! I hope we get some pixie dusted mouse keeping magic. I think our girls would love it!

Willow is so cute and she looks to be in a great mood on this day, so that always makes it more fun.

Wow I can't believe how many characters you saw, it's amazing what cute interaction you got too :goodvibes

All caught up. I'd had a very busy week+ with DD in the Nutcracker. You had a very busy week adding updates. :thumbsup2 Loved all the photos with the characters and I am absolutely amazed at all your character autograph pages. They are awesome!!

Looking forward to reading more.

I'm always trying to get us to the shows, but it's not worth the battle with DD OR we are there right after one has started and don't want to wait forever. :confused3 I was so glad that we timed it just right - the show was great!

We loved the Broadway (touring) production so much - even though DD was so little at the time. I would love to see it again and was thinking about it for this spring, but I think we're going to do Sister Act instead since we haven't seen that one.

I am really sad too - we are HUGE Camp Minnie/Mickey fans. :(

I am really impressed with how quickly you all got ready, my family does nothing quickly!:confused3
:confused3 I have NO idea how we did it!

Yeah - it is impossible for me to get anything done for Christmas - I am just way too tired after Willow goes to bed. I really want to make her a memory quilt from all of her old t-shirts and jammies, but I just don't think it's going to happen. :( Oh well - maybe I'll get bit by the energy bug and somehow manage to make it happen.

I have so many sewing projects piling up, and I haven't done ANYTHING since the Halloween costume - we just haven't been home much and then we were both sick all last weekend. I'm hoping maybe I can get the glitter cleaned out of my machine and get something started this weekend. I hope you are able to get your Christmas projects done!

:moped: Hi Roni :wave2: quick drive by to say 2 things well 3 actually

1- all caught up

:rotfl2: You are too funny! I was shocked when I suddenly found myself dancing with that big bear! :scared1:

Oh, how disappointing! They are going to re-open it in a new location, right? Now that we have finally seen it, I totally don't want to miss it.

Willows friends on the bed always look so cute! I hope we get some pixie dusted mouse keeping magic. I think our girls would love it!
We got a lot of attention from our Mousekeeper this year - actually every experience we had with Boardwalk CMs this August were just wonderful. They had a great crew of people working there. :goodvibes

Willow is so cute and she looks to be in a great mood on this day, so that always makes it more fun.
Thanks! Both of us were in great spirits this day - it was good to sleep a little later, do a late breakfast, and it helped that AK seemed less crowded than the other parks. It was a really great day - probably the most fun day of the WDW half of our trip. :thumbsup2

Wow I can't believe how many characters you saw, it's amazing ad what cute interaction you got too :goodvibes
 We have a weird character obsession, I think. It was never more evident than on our AK day!

Thank you so much for the autograph pages compliments. They were a lot of work, so it's nice to hear that they looked good.

I just LOVED the pics you posted from your DD's dance. My goodness!!!! you must be so proud!

I guess I did get a few updates posted. I feel like this TR is taking forever. I have a 2-week trip, and I think I have managed to get to day 4 or 5 in two months! :rotfl2:

:moped: Hi Roni :wave2: quick drive by to say 2 things well 3 actually
Hi Ruthie! Thanks for stopping in!

1- all caught up
:thumbsup2

2- always love the pictures of Willow but you need to be in more of them with her
Well, maybe this will make you feel better - I got more photos of myself (remember - it is just me and Willow on these trips) on this trip than ever before, and I have posted about 300 times the number of pics of myself on this report than I have ever posted anywhere on the internet before in my life. So I'm doing pretty well, right???? :cheer2:

3- pluto:<------ STILL NOT a Thug :rotfl:
Oh, mark my word, take note, hold onto your horses, the thug is coming!!!!! :scared1:

We Meet the Real Chef

When I last left off, we had returned to the BWI to get cleaned up for our early dinner ADR at Chef Mickey’s! We were back out to the bus stop by about 4:20 and on a bus at 4:26.

I think Willow was pretty excited about this one.

We made all the necessary stops and arrived at the MK at 4:50. From the bus stop, we walked over to the resort monorail and boarded a monorail at 4:57, arriving at the Contemporary by about 5:00.

We were excited to check this out - looking forward to our cruise in just a few days!

We realized that we were actually a little early for our ADR, so we browsed the Contemporary shops for a bit. We LOVE the shops here - we always seem to find things here that we don’t find elsewhere. :confused3

Soon, however, it was time to check in at Chef Mickey’s.

Very soon, we were being called to get our picture taken. I actually liked how this one came out!

Up Next: We Meet the Real Chef Cont.

We Meet the Real Chef Cont.

And within about 2 minutes of our ADR time, we were being seated. Not too shabby! I know that this place has been getting a bad rap lately (which is funny because when I first joined the DIS boards, it was the most sought-after ADR ), but we had a great time here. The food was fine - some of it pretty tasty (if you are interested, you can read a bit more about it on my dining review) - and the characters were a blast! It helped that DD was sporting the Minnie outfit I had made for her right down to the apron and the big bow - most of the characters had something to “say” about that.

Pluto visited with us first.

Next up was Goofy.

We had a lot of fun with Mickey. He loved the autograph book and Willow’s outfit. We talked about how he better not get her confused with Minnie because Minnie might not be too happy!

BTW, I would really like to have this over my fireplace.

Donald was a lot of fun too - he loved the autograph page with his apron and No. 1. We did ask him about his lack of a hat and he seemed a bit upset about it, so we told him how nice his hat-less head looked, which made him much happier. He also thought it was hilarious that Mickey might mistake Willow for Minnie.

Finally, it was time for Minnie! And she loved Willow’s outfit and our autograph page. She agreed completely that she would have to give Mickey a talking-to if he mistook Willow for her.

So, how much fun did we have at Chef Mickey’s? This should answer that question!

And Willow’s pics from this evening:

Up Next: Some Fabulous CMs

willow looks so adorable in her minnie dress! love the sparkly shoes!!! your chef mickey dinner looks like a blast and willow couldn't look more happy. i can't wait for our ADR there. we loved it last time we went. i haven't heard anything bad about it, but that makes me sad. we liked it so much!

i'd hang that picture of mickey at our house too!

we're planning a cruise for 2015--our very first cruise ever! can't wait to hear about yours!

Just a quick extra update here - remember how PP lost our Alice and Goofy photos (and others that I didn’t realize were lost until much too late :()? Well, they were able to recover the Alice ones (sadly, not the Goofy ones, which was a shame since that meet was hilarious). Here they are!

Nothing earth-shattering. But it is nice to have them!

AND Friday evening, Miss Willow decided that she was ready to cut her hair significantly for the first time in her life. I think she looks so cute!!!

I feel like I missed a bunch!

In all of my years loving Disney, I've actually never been to Disney on ice. Willow looks so cute, and how appropriate that she had no idea that you were going to Disney on ice?! I would totally wear that every day if I could.

Wow! Great seats.

Oohh, AC in Mickey and Minnie's new meet and greet huh? That's a nice treat.

You threw away a Mickey bar?! I just cried a little. ;)

That picture of Baloo coming at you the dance is hysterical! It's like "hey girl, get over here!"

Love the puffball Yeti picture! It's a puffball selfie.

Okay, I'm adoring Willow's Minnie outfit. So perfect.

Love her new haircut!

Love Willows Minnie outfit so cute! If I haven't said before I love your autograph pages I told my daughter she needs to come check out your report and the pages.........:cool1:

I'm a bit behind. I love all of your character meets at Camp Minnie Mickey. The characters over there are often quite silly. And it looks like Baloo has a crush on you! I'm glad you like FOTLK. I love that show. Especially the monkeys! I love, love, love Willow's Chef Mickey outfit. When I saw the 1st picture of her in it I just said, "Ahhh!" I'm not suprised all the characters loved it. How could they not? So perfect! As you know, we love Chef Mickey's too. Since they changed the Epcot Character Connections it is now the only place to meet all of the Fab 5 at one time. Can't beat that!

Fun update!! Looks like you had a lovely time at Chef Mickey's. It has been a very long time since we've eaten there. 2004 was our last meal there. You had some great character meets.
Love Willow's new haircut!!!
