Heat, Headaches but So Much Fun! My June Birthday TR (Trip Wrap-Up 10/12)

Love this update! How neat that Madison got picked as Boo. And I totally agree, BTM rocks at night!

She was sitting on Tony's lap, so I think they thought she was younger than she actually was. We still thought it was awesome! BTMRR is totally awesome after dark.

What's so funny about this pic is that I'm in the Castle eating when you took this pic!

That is so funny! I have yet to eat at CRT, but I'm sure we will someday.

Great update! I loved the CM's at BTMRR too during our EMH! We got on and they started a slow clap. Of course, me, being totally into it, when we pulled out, let out a "Woo!" That then everyone else on the train did too...it was so much fun!! And I can't remember doing the ride at night before, now it's a must-do! Awesome!!

Those CM's really were a blast. There was lots of WOOing going on that night as well. :rotfl:

DH and my brother agree about riding BTMR at night. They did it many times. They were trying to make it more appealing for themselves. Sometimes they rode the whole time with their arms up and eyes closed. It was all very silly, and I didn't appreciate being bumped into by DH when he had his arms up.

BTMRR never gets old for me. It's just so much fun! I love the fact that Madison enjoys it too. It was her first taste of what a roller coaster is like.

What a great update!! :thumbsup2 The picture of the castle that you saud was one of your favorites is absolutely GORGEOUS! It's definitely frame quality! I can just see it blown up to an 8x10... :goodvibes And that's so awesome that your joke was chosen and that Maddie was Boo! What a fun, fun day!

Meghan, girl, I go on vacation to Disney and get behind on several updates. But, I'm all caught up again. So, carry on!;)

Terrific update! I love the photos of the castle changing colors! And it sounds like you had a wonderful day and night. Boo for the mean people at the bus stop. I never understand that. When ds would overhear things like that when he was very small, he would say in a loud voice, "That (lady/man) is not very nice!". I got him to stop it, but I wonder if I should have just let him speak...

Your castle pics are amazing! The one with the magic mirror on the side was beautiful- never saw it when we were there because we were on the other side of the castle for Wishes.

Great update Meghan! Hope you had fun with your parties!!

The parties this weekend were a lot of fun. Now, it's time to relax.

Thank you. I do adore that picture of the Castle. I really should get a frame for it. I'm so disorganized when it comes to putting pictures in frames! For some reason, our jokes almost always get picked when we do the Laugh Floor. We must have some pretty good corny, family friendly jokes!

So glad to know you're all caught up! :thumbsup2 I hope you had a great vacation!

Thanks! I didn't realize how many pics of the Castle I took until I looked through my pictures. Isn't it funny how children know when people are being mean? Why can't grown-ups figure that out.

Thank you! I had seen the magic mirror on the Castle before, but that's because we watch Wishes from Main Street. I love to watch it head on (not behind a tree like in June).

WOW...the castle pics you took are just beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love them all.....you captured the colored ones perfectly!!:cloud9:

Looks like a fun packed day! I'm impressed the Madison can stay up and do all that at her age!!! My boys would start getting grumpy by late in the day wtih the heat and all...but she just keeps smiling!! :)

Great updates!!:wizard:

Thank you so much! Madison did great each and everyday. She didn't really show signs of being tired until we got on the bus each night. She's my little tropper! She's just like me when I was little; I never got tired at Disney.

Thanks Jen! We had such a great time at MK that day. I wish I could go back and relive it. You will LOVE BTMRR at night. Be sure to look for for the "wild party" above the saloon as you whiz by! Spectro has always been a must-do for me. So many good memories.

Love the update. I wish I was there with you! LOL! I think I watched Wishes from that same spot in 2008.

I was home and still got behind! LOL !

Thanks! It was a good spot, but I just prefer to watch Wishes straight on. I just love standing right smack in the middle of Main Street watching the fireworks go off behind the castle. Sigh. I wish I was there right now!

I love posting updates, but our trip was so short. I only have one full day and a half day left. :sad1: I can't believe my trip ended 2 months ago today! I want to go back SO badly!

I know..I was just thinking...today 2 months ago, we were at Epcot and then went to the MK for the Annual Passholder preview of the HoP, then ate dinner at 1900 PF! :sad1:

Day Four
June 27th
Early Morning

The alarm woke me up at 5:45am and I quickly hopped out of bed. It was time for AK EMH and breakfast at TH! Once we were all ready for the day, we made our way to the bus stop. I didn't write anything down about the bus that day, so it was probably waiting for us when we got there. I'm guessing that we arrived at AK around 7:30am and there was already a good sized crowd waiting to get in.

Once we got through the turnstiles, we made our way towards Africa. We got to see the nice little morning show that they do there and soon enough, we were moving towards Africa.

I told Madison and Tony to meet me at Tusker House while I went to get FP's for KS. Well, once again I dashed and darted my way around people until I got to the actual rope (that's a first!). I was probably one of the first 3 people to grab a FP for KS that morning. Next came the hard part....making my way back to TH! It was like a little fish fighting it's way upstream! I did manage to make it there all in one piece.

When I got to TH, Tony and Madison had just checked in and were in line for the photo. Our CM that stood in line with us was very nice and very talkative. After our photo, he took us to our table and within minutes, our waitress was there. She poured us some delicious juice (not a fan of the paper straws at AK) and told us to help ourselves to the buffet.

Before any characters had even come out, we had just about finished our breakfast! The restaurant was fairly empty that morning, so there was a big line at the buffet (looking back, I wonder why it was so hard for me to snag that ADR). The first character to arrive that morning was....

Donald!!

Then, right before they invited the kids to join in the little parade, this is what was brought out to me.
100_0898.jpg

A gigantic vanilla cupcake! (with a candle)

Regretfully, I only managed to take 2 or 3 bites of my cupcake. It was just too early in the morning for that much sugar! After the parade (which Madison had no interest in joining), here's who we saw:

100_0899.jpg

Mickey

100_0900.jpg

Daisy (Madison was so excited to finally be able to meet her!)

100_0901.jpg

Goofy (I wish he would have taken a few steps back!)

Tusker House was very nice, but it's not on our must-do list. The main reason we went there was so that Madison could meet Daisy. She was nowhere to be found on our January trip.

After our breakfast, we used our FP's for KS. We sat in the back row of our vehicle and here are some shots I took:

After the safari, I took some more pictures in Africa and then we took a walk down one of the Tree of Life trails.

Since this was only our 2nd trip to AK, we had never seen ITTBAB. After we convinced Madison to go see it, we got in line and had no wait. We decided to sit in the back row all the way to the left (in case we needed to leave). Let me tell you...Madison and I did NOT enjoy a single minute of this. She sat on Tony's lap the whole time and I sat on the very edge of my seat with my feet resting on the bench in front of me (I had heard about this show). If I never see this show again, my heart will not be broken. After our not-so-lovely experience, we walked over to Asia.

Once we got over to EE, Tony said we should probably grab FP's for Dinosaur before we rode. So, being the FP's getter that I am, I walked quite briskly over to Dinoland. I was back with my family in a matter of minutes and I let Tony ride first. I needed some quality time in the a/c! While I was gone, Madison had purchased a set of binoculars in the gift shop. That kept her quite occupied to say the least! Tony was back pretty quickly, so then it was my turn! When I got into the single rider line, there was 1 person ahead of me! It goes without saying that I got on very quickly. Once my ride through the Forbidden Mountain was over, I met back up with my family. We then walked over to Dinoland together.

There was absolutely NO wait for Triceratop Spin, so we got in line. It took awhile to get everyone seated and boy were we melting! It was so hot that day and I could wait to get moving so we could get some wind blowing on us. It was then time to use our FP's for Dinosaur. Madison had skipped this one in January, but Tony and I had liked it. Before we left for our trip, I showed it to Madison on youtube and she thought she would like it. She did end up enjoying it, but she closed her eyes at certain parts. By this time, we were in desperate need of some a/c and swimming, so we made our way to the exit. We did manage to stop for some photopass pics before we left:

As we walked by the path to the Rainforest Cafe, we noticed a pretty big crowd. I wondered what on earth they were all doing until I saw her. DeVine!!! I rushed over, pulled out my camera and tried to get a good shot. Well, she must have been on her way to take a little rest or something, so this was all that I could get:

100_0938.jpg

Can you see her??

As we arrived at the bus stop, a bus pulled up right away. When we got back to Pop, we all changed into our swimsuits and headed to the Hippy Dippy Pool. (our room hadn't been cleaned yet, but I noticed a Mousekeeping cart a few doors down) The sky looked a little dark and ominous, but we didn't mind. It was pretty windy though, so they had turned off the flower sprayers. I took a very quick little dip to cool off and then headed for a lounge chair. Tony and Madison kept swimming and I managed to take a nice little cat nap by the pool. Feeling refreshed, I took one more little dip into the pool. We all got out of the pool and headed back to the room. We had to get ready to go to Epcot and LeCellier!!!!!

Wonderful day so far. You don't like ITTBAB? Danielle hates it too. I think it's cute. I want to try TH someday. Every report I've read so far about it has been good. I'm so jealous you got LeCellier. I tried so hard for this but no luck.
