Heat, Headaches but So Much Fun! My June Birthday TR (Trip Wrap-Up 10/12)

Love the Pop pics!! Got me even more excited since thats where I'm staying!! Glad to hear the beds are comfy!!! :cool1:

OH and I always think that people must not like my PTR either...hopefully I get more people on my TR! I loved both of yours!! :goodvibes

Hey Meghan!! Awesome start to your TR! Love the pictures - especially Madison with her missing tooth!

I wish I could fly JetBlue, but they don't operate out of MSP as far as I can tell. We just got Southwest but it doesn't go direct to Orlando. I have been watching flights every day looking for a deal for December.

Sorry for the diversion! Now back to the TR!

You should see Madison now! Her other front tooth was super loose the whole trip. We tried countless times to pull it out, but I guess it wasn't ready. I won't really yank on it, but with her bottom teeth, I hardly touched them and they came right out. I'll get to how the other front one came out later in the TR.

Hey girl!! Lovin' those pictures!! The kids loved the pics of the Pop!!Gracie loved the pool!!! I loved the play doh stuff!!! Your cat looks like a little tiger!!!
did you say you had to cut out the Mickey heads? YIKES!! I might try to find some big Mickey head stickers!!!We aren't sure yet what we want to do!!:confused3

Yes, I cut out 60 Mickey heads for the countdown! I couldn't feel my thumb when I was done! Both of my cats are the same color and they're tan with lightish stripes. The one in the picture is our boy, Motown and we have a girl named Mocha. Glad you like the pics!

Aw, we watched Stacy every day too!

I wish that Must Do Disney was a bit longer. While we got ready in the morning we must have seen it 2 or 3 times through!

YAY! it's tarted. Sounds like you had good karma that morning. I can just feel yur excitement arriving to Pop. I feel the same way each time. I agree on the beds too. I have a real hard time with hotel beds, but the Pop ones have always been wonderful for me.

We adored everything about Pop! My DH is such a sweetheart because he let me have my own bed the whole trip! He shared a bed with Madison and I give him credit for it. She's a bed hog and moves around SO much! But, he's a very sound sleeper, unlike myself, so I really appreciated it!

We were early risers too for our trip to the airport, so I totally know how you felt getting up before the roosters!

The last picture of Madison, I think while you were at the airport - OMG her eye lashes are so long and beautiful!!!!

Loved the pictures of Pop, never been there, but it looks like a cool resort.

We were at MK the day that you arrived - I'm checking to see if we cross any days (but my report is not up to the 24th yet!) We did head to DTD the first day we were there too for dinner.

Waiting for more....:thumbsup2

Oooo...I need to go check out your TR! Could you post the link?

Yay!! You started....I can't wait to hear more!! Love the countdown...and I know the feeling about not wanting to throw it away...I was the same way about my December one, my DH asked about 2 months ago if he could finally throw it away...and I said yes, as long as I didn't know about it....I'm pretty sure it's gone!! :lmao: I just can't bring myself to do that!!!! LOL!!

I really want to pace myself with this TR. I feel like I did my January one too quickly. I really want to make this one last so I can relive it!

I'm flying JetBlue out of Rochester for my trip in August. I live 15 minutes from the airport, so it's real easy! I always check the Buffalo & Syracuse airports though, they're only an hour away! The prices for airfare for our trip in October are ridiculous! No joke. JetBlue is running over $300! :scared1: Southwest isn't much better. Airtran is better, but then we have stops and the times are awful. We'd leave Rochester at 6am and wouldn't get in until 2! And then coming home we'd leave at 4 and wouldn't get in until after midnight. It's terrible. I'm thinking about flying Continental and Delta. They have stops, but the times are better. And I'd have to pay for a bag, but it'd only be one bag between my boyfriend and we could get a flight below $200! Usually if Rochester is terrible I check Buffalo and I can get a flight $100 better, not this time :sad2: (Though usually it's to Chicago, idk why, but it's insanely expensive to fly Rochester to Chicago, but not Buffalo to Chicago...weird.)

:scared: Sorry for the novel, I'm just stressed about the whole thing!!

I love the Pop pictures! That's where we're staying in October! :yay:

We got wonderful prices for both of our Disney trips this year with JetBlue. That's strange that the Buffalo flights weren't cheaper than Rochester. Don't stress too much. You're going to Disney and that's all that matters.

Thanks! You're going to LOVE Pop! The room was actually bigger than I had imagined in my head which was nice. We really only needed a place to sleep and shower since we were always at the parks!

All the Daddies just love Stacy! If you google her, there are websites, all kinds of stuff. I was really surprised!

Great start, and what fantastic luck when you checked in!

Maria :upsidedow

That's great that your room was ready so quickly and that the luggage arrived too! We've had excellent luck with our luggage arriving from ME fast.

Hey Meghan! First off, your count-up callendar is SO cute! :thumbsup2 And I just can't get over how big Madison's smile is--you can tell she is just soooo excited. Your family is so cute! It's awesome that you were able to get into your room so quickly! Can't wait to read more :woohoo:

Great Update!! I still can't believe your dear DH went to Tim Horten's at 5am! If we were leaving at 5:15 my DH wouldn't even be up until about 5am! :rotfl:

Your room location looks so nice! I've never explored that side of PoP before.

My DH was getting a bit sick of Stacy I think. Every time he'd turn on ESPN or anything else, Madison would yell at him to turn it back on!

We did arrive at MCO after 9am, it wasn't busy...so I'm thinking that's why it arrived so quickly. I was very happy!

My TR: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2223154

I'm gonna try to get it in my signature like I've seen others, I've never done it before, so I'll try to figure it out!

Thanks! I'll be sure to check it out. To post it in your signature:

Go to your TR and copy the url. Then, go to edit your signature. Click on the little earth icon and then paste your TR link. Once you click ok, there will be some highlighted text. If you want, start typing the name of your TR. That text will then appear in your signature, not the long text link! Hope this makes sense!

Thanks! It took a lot of work, but it was fun to put on a Mickey head everyday. Madison's smile was huge all week! She had a great time.

He didn't want to spend the money at the airport! Besides, if you take a right out of my neighborhood, there is a Tim Horton's 5 seconds down the road!! :rotfl: It's awesome. We LOVED our room location! I feel bad but, we were trying to jam so much stuff into our short trip, we never got to explore the rest of the resort. My DH and DD went to the bowling pin pool one day, and that was it.

Awww loved your updates Meghan!!! So glad you had no trouble at the airport and you made it safely to Disney!!!

Don't you just love POP!! I really enjoyed the times I have stayed there! Glad they were able to meet all your requests!!!!

Can't wait to hear about your first park time!

Great start :thumbsup2

I love love love your countdown calendar! My DD would really get a kick out of doing that!

I have to say, if we lived that close to Timmy's we'd be in TROUBLE!

I'll wait here on the edge of my seat for the next installment :goodvibes

Thank you, thank you Meghan - I figured it out, you're the best!

Great start! Madison looks so happy and excited. Too bad she didn't loose her tooth at Disney. You know Tinker Belle has tooth fairy duties at Disney. In 2007 Danielle lost one of her teeth while we were at dinner at the Crystal Palace and Tinker Belle did her right that night.

Love your pictures of POP. I didn't take hardly any, I guess because I took so many in 2007. I'll have to look real close to see if we show up in the background.

Pop was just amazing! All of the CM's we encountered were extremely nice and helpful.

I'm so excited that you started! can't wait to read more!

I'm excited too! I hope to post a quick update today.

Great start :thumbsup2

We do go to Timmy's quite often! I love getting a nice cold iced capp on a hot day! Madison and I had a lot of fun with our countdown calendar.

Thank you, thank you Meghan - I figured it out, you're the best!

Yea! So glad that I could help.

I really wanted that tooth to come out. She was having such a hard time eating and was very uncomfortable.

OMG I know! I can't believe how short it is!

It needs to be longer! I think I knew the whole thing word for word by the time we left!:rotfl:

Quick note: I'm leaving for Rochester around 3:30pm today. Madison has another feis tomorrow morning, so my mom, myself and Madison are staying overnight there. I want to post another quick little update today before I go! I'll try my best! I have to get all those curlers into her hair!!! Anyways...on Sunday, we're going to Syracuse. My cousins, that are twins, are having their high school grad party. So busy this weekend! Then, starting Monday, we have vacation bible school at church. I volunteer with the games and it's so much fun. I have to be there around 8am and we get out around 1pm. Madison also starts Irish for the summer on Monday, she plays soccer on Wed nights and Sat afternoons and has swimming lessons on Thursday evenings. We're a busy bunch this summer! I will try my very best to keep the updates coming. I don't want my TR to move too quickly though. I have so much fun reliving my trip.

Madison got a few bug bites while we were in N.Florida and now they've gotten quite bad. We went to the doctor today and they gave her a prescription for some antibiotics. We have to go back on Monday so they can check on them. In our family, we greatly believe in the power of prayer. We'd appreciate any prayers sent Madison's way right now. They told us the bug bites were just infected, but to me, they look a bit like tick or spider bites. We're praying that the antibiotics will fight the infection and they will clear up soon. Thanks so much everyone! I hope to be back a bit later.

Hi Meghan!
I just wanted to let you know that I will be praying for Madison, I hope that the bites clear up soon and it's nothing more to worry about. Please keep us posted on things!!

Good luck with her Feis this weekend, sounds like a busy one for you!! I hope it's a nice one though!!

Take care,
Kristen:flower3:

Oh, poor Madison, I hope things get better and you have a great weekend!

Day One
June 24th
Afternoon (ish)

So, I left off with us boarding our first Disney bus. We took a lovely ride past OKW and SSR on our way over. Once we got off the bus, I had only one place in my mind: Tren-D! I had been looking at pictures of this place for at least a month. My family wasn't as excited, so they headed to Once Upon a Toy. Needless to say, I fell in LOVE with Tren-D:

I love my girl Tink!

100_0696.jpg

My favorite thing about the store!

100_0697.jpg

Since when did Disney start selling shutter shades? Does Kanye know about this?

100_0698.jpg

I was SO close to buying that purse, but I stopped myself. I have WAY too many purses.

As you can see, I loved taking pictures in there! There was just so much to look at! However, I only bought one thing: a necklace. I had seen a picture of it online and just had to have it. I'll take a picture of it eventually, but it has all different color beads on it of varying sizes. Then, there are about 3 or 4 Mickey head beads on it too. It's very subtle and oh so fab! I met back up with my family and they had a blast at Once Upon a Toy. We bought Madison the Hidden Mickey book and there were a ton of them in that store. We made our way to the Pin Traders location and Madison had fun trading some pins for the first time. We also looked around World of Disney. I bought my fabulous Mickey Head stretchy multi-colored bracelt and I think Madison may have bought something too.

100_0699.jpg

It was my birthday, so I felt obligated to take a picture of the Mickey head balloons at WOD.

We decided that we needed to head back to Pop to rest up for our dinner ressie. As we were walking by the DVC area, Madison noticed the CM had pins. So, we went over to trade and she ended up talking our ear off. If Madison hadn't wanted to go swimming so badly, we would have gone over to SSR to hear the presentation. They were offering gift certificates the CM said. We politely declined, but she gave us some info anyways. Someday, we will be DVC owners, I just know it.

As we were walking to the bus stop, a Pop bus was pulling away. Bummer! But, we didn't have to wait too long for another to pull up. I didn't mind taking the bus from DTD, but it kinda stunk having to stop over by Pleasure Island and then having to stop at a water park. Oh well! The a/c felt very nice. When we got back to Pop, Madison and Tony got ready to go swimming. I needed a nap and wanted to unpack since I didn't know how long we'd be at DHS that night. While Maddie and Tony went swimming, not only did I unpack, I also decorated our window!!!

100_0701.jpg

Full view, sorry about the glare. It was mighty sunny out!

100_0702.jpg

I was so proud of our beautiful window! By this time, I really needed a nap. Just as I got into bed for a quick snooze, Madison and Tony returned from the pool! Oh well. I could push the tiredness aside. I was at Disney on my birthday and I wasn't going to let anything stop me. We grabbed a quick snack in our room (we had brought some granola bars and such with us) and made our way to the DHS bus stop. It was time to head to our first park of this trip!

Thanks ladies! I'm very happy that my mom is coming with us this weekend. She wasn't able to come to the Buffalo Feis, so this will be her first time watching Madison compete.

We'll be sure to keep Madison in our prayers for a quick recovery...and for good luck competing this weekend :goodvibes

Have a safe trip!
