HEAT end Sept/Oct Can't breathe awful?or

We've been to WDW twice in September; once in 2000 and again in 2002.

When we were there in 2000 it was so unbelieveably hot and humid and we were miserable. DH worked in a steel mill by blast furnaces right after he got out of college so he's used to the heat. But, he was really miserable during that trip. He'd walk outside and be drenched in sweat within a matter of a couple of minutes. He swore we'd never go back in September but we did in 2002 because I wanted to get another trip out of my AP. That year it was hot but not as bad as 2000.

Oh, and in 2000 our first day there was super rainy and windy because there was a hurricane blowing up the Gulf Coast of FL.

Just make sure to take lots of breaks, drink LOTS of water and get a mister fan.

I was there last Oct 1-7th. I didn't think it was that bad. The humidity tends to die down at the very end of Sept. so the heat is dryer heat. I don't think we hit 90 that week.

I live in FL and am somewhat used to the heat (although it is cooler where I live in the panhandle) so maybe that affected my experience.

We were in WDW the last week of September-first week of October last year during free dining. I remember the feeling of being soaked the minute we walked out our hotel room. The humidity was unbearable.

My DH and I get along so well. We rarely argue. The last day of our trip we were at Animal Kingdom. The heat was wearing on us. We both got a Mickey bar :mickeybar -they melted more quickly than we could eat them. He sat on one bench, I went and sat on another. I didn't want to talk to him, or really be near him. I was sick of the heat and sick of him!

The parks, in my opinion were crowded the first week of October. We had hour long waits in MK. That was torture mixed with the heat and humidity.

This year, when I heard of the free dining being offered again, I asked my DH if he wanted to change our Dec trip to October. He said "no way!!!" We still had an amazing trip last year, but we know we will enjoy it much more without the heat draining us. It will be worth it for us to pay for the dining plan this year.

I agree that the 1st week of Oct. wasn't bad. I felt that Fri. the 7th was HOT though.

We were there 9/25-10/8.

The last week of Sept. was HOT. Lines were short though, so we weren't out in the heat too much.

I said that I wouldn't want to go back at that time. Free dining convinced me otherwise.

I enjoyed Dec. weather much better though.

Like laurietg said, crowds increased the first week of Oct. too, but weren't too bad.
