Can I get some opinions on the heat and crowds for the end of May. We are thinking about going but have not been there in May for several years. Have the love bugs gotten that bad in May. I remember seeing them but not the piles of them that I have seen in some posts. Just curious about your experiences. Thanks:wizard:

We went the end of May this year and did not notice any bugs. It was very warm, close to 90 everyday and very humid. We had afternoon showers every day and had some intense lightening. The crowds were not horrible, but it was pretty busy and by afternoon, especially at MK, it was sometimes difficult to walk through the crowd.

We go every May. Yes it's hot and humid but not like the summer.

I don't remember the bugs in May. We went once in very late August over to September and the bugs were EVERYWHERE, this was in the 1990's.

We go end of April first of May, its been hot but bearable, and yet to see a drop of rain in 3 trips. Its a little crowded, but we managed fine. There must not have been any or so few that we just did not notice. We are going again April 27 - May 4, 2010.

We too have made many trips in May and I don't recall an overwhelming amount of bugs. As others have said, it can be hot but not like the summer and the crowd levels were always very managable.

We went at the end of May this year and loved it! It was hot, and depending on where you live and are used to, a little humid. I'm from Alabama, so to me, it wasn't humid at all...just normal May weather.

The only day that was crowded was Memorial Day, but the other days were great. Most schools are not out for the summer yet, so the crowds were still low.

We just canceled our Spring Break trip and rebooked another end of May trip. The touringplans.com crowd calendar is showing 4s, 5s, and 7s, the only exception being Memorial Day.

We experienced some bugs on our end of May vacation in 2008, but not that bad. I noticed them mostly when we were hanging out at the pool; not so much anywhere else.

We went the middle of May this year. It was hot in the sun but quite comfortable in the shade and at night. Nowhere near the humidity of the summer months. I ended up getting quite a few bug bites. No one else in our party did. I always get a few when we go regardless of time of year, but I did get more in May than usual. I am always the only one who gets them though, the bugs just like me for some reason! We didn't notice bugs otherwise.

We went in the beginning of May this year and it wasn't too bad. There were a few days that it was hot but bearable. Unfortunately there was a tropical depression that formed while we were there and it rained A LOT!

The days that it didn't rain, I don't recall a bug problem. I do know that the "love bugs" can be really bad one year and then hardly around the next.

What days are y'all going to be there? Our trip is May 22-27th and I'm praying those are the 4s and 5s you mentioned.

We're not checking in until May 29th, but these are the numbers for your trip dates:

May 22 - 8 (Star Wars Weekend)
May 23 - 8 (Star Wars Weekend)
May 24 - 5
May 25 - 7
May 26 - 5
May 27 - 5

The recommended parks v. avoid parks are pretty much split, so you should have really low crowds. I'd be happy to share those with you if you need them.

Yes, I would love any info you have. Thanks.

For the past 4 years I've been going in early May and it is usually high 80's/low 90's. This year it was high 90's-it was a difficult transition coming from MA to that.

In 2006 I took my DD to WDW for her 7th birthday 5/22. The hottest day I've ever experienced in WDW was 5/23. I think it was 104.:scared1: I've been 4 times in August and it has never been as hot as it was that day. She wanted to ride Goofy's Barnstormer and I remember begging her to do Space Mountain (which she did like) instead so we'd be in the AC but she wanted Goofy's and it was her bday trip.
