Heat/crowd issues and DAS

I already will be in an ECV due to my mobility concerns. We went last year just before they switched to the DAS system and I received a GAC even though the CM was rude and it was not what I asked for (it was more inclusive than I needed it to be he was just oddly rude) and that encounter makes me nervous to go for the DAS. I typically do fine in my every day life however I have been diagnosed with a neuro/cardio issue. If I get even remotely overheated I will pass out. I plan on utilizing cooling devices but I was wondering if anyone has been issued a DAS for something similar. I know many lines have AC but I also know quite a few that are hot, especially in AK. I was hoping to get a return time and hang out somewhere with AC. Thanks!

I do know of people who have been issued DAS for similar reasons. I have not been to WDW or DL since the DAS went into effect, but have been reading almost all the trip reports about DAS that have been posted. The biggest advice I can give, based on what I've read, is to not try to get a DAS at EPCOT. The worst experiences that include incorrect information and rudeness from CMs do seem to come from folks who tried to get their DAS at EPCOT. Posters who've gone to most of the other parks haven't had as many issues.

I would suggest prefacing your explanation with "I have x need that has nothing to do with my wheelchair use, but because of y." Even if it's symptoms/problems from the same condition, one symptom is not based on the other one. There are plenty of people who share a diagnosis with me who would need a DAS for reasons similar to yours, but not use a wheelchair. Conversely, there are people who share my diagnosis who use a wheelchair, but don't need a DAS. Same cause, but symptoms occurring independently of each other.
