Hearing some bad reviews on the Omnig

We stayed at the Omni San Diego last fall and absolutely loved it. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. Are you worried about the trolley noise? I really didn't notice that at all. If you are on the bay side, you might hear horns from ships from time to time, but nothing that is going to keep you up at night - I am a pretty light sleeper and it didn't bother me at all.

We have also stayed at the Hotel Del Coronado, which is a great location (right on the beach). The newer buildings are amazing, but not cheap. Check it out, it might work for you.

Good luck!

I was worried about the trolley noise, but I got the room for $130 a night.. I think the Hotel Del Coronado is expensive... $$$$$

I love the Omni San Diego. We were upgraded to a suite for our anniversary. We could watch the Padres baseball game from our huge bathroom, turned the game on on the tv to hear who was up. There was no noise problem for us, and we were next to the stadium, and next to the railyard. We left our windows open quite often too.

Wow, $130 a night? You can't find anything in San Diego for that cheap, let alone one of the nicest hotels in the area. I say take that deal and enjoy! :)

If you get a room where you can hear trolley noise (or other noise that bothers you), just ask to be relocated. I am sure they will do their best to accommodate you.

I have heard even rooms further up still hear some noise.. but you know.. it was a good deal...

:thumbsup2
