Hi! New to hearing aides and will be using them in WDW and on DCL soon and wondered if there are any tips I should know about riding rides and such. I heard about sweat being an issue but don’t think it will be too bad this time of year (February).
They are over the ear and I’ve only had them about a month so any tips would be appreciated.

My mom uses hearing aides and will take them out for rides where she’ll get wet (Tiana’s, Kali, etc). She recently upgraded to rechargeable HAs but before that always carried extra batteries in her park bag.

Great, thank you. I have a small case I plan to bring to put them in if needed.
Does she ever take them out n more intense rides, coasters and such?
Mine are rechargeable so that’s next less thing to worry about.

She leaves the in and the only ride she doesn’t do anymore is RnRC (and Mission Space Orange—she never did that one 😂). She doesn’t seems to have a problem with them staying put.

Great. I’ve never done Mission-any color.
I’ll take them out on RnRC.

I had the same problem with new hearing aids just like yours, over the ear. I went to Universal last November and wondered how the hearing aids would work with their fast and bumpy rides.
I'm happy to say it went just fine. It was hot and sweaty when we were there, and I had no issues with my HA's at all. I just touched them to make sure they were secure before getting on the faster and rougher rides, and they were fine each time.
I do understand your anxiety with hearing aids since they are still new to you though.
Sometimes I just took them off and put them in their carrying case because the noise could get to be too loud at times on the attractions. So there's that option if you are worried about them. Just take them off for a while.
It will all be fine, so have fun!
They only time I ever worry about the hearing aids is when I go to take a shower. I make doubly sure that I took them off before showering, but that's it. It's so much nicer being able to hear what others are saying:)

Great, thank you. I am bringing a small case that can fit in my pocket. I may just take them off before rides just to be safe.

I’m newer to having hearing aids too and I usually take mine out on any fast rides (expedition Everest for sure!) and any water rides too. It’s expensive and I don’t want to damage it! Lol. My batter last all day no issues. I just recharge overnight. My kids are good at reminding me to take out my hearing aid on the faster rides. I also removed mine during a crazy rain storm at Epcot because we didn’t have an umbrella and I just didn’t want to Chance it getting wet! It held up just fine in August and all the heat and humidity. Hope that helps and have a fun trip!

I would use those retaining clips especially on anything with a lot of air motion around your head. My son's device came right out on Expedition Everest one time, and his ponto is more secure than an over the ear hearing aid. That would have cost us around $6,000 to replace without that line clipping it to his shirt. He was a very adult like tween, so caught it as it was starting to fly... just to say we're not talking about a 4 year old who is oblivious and irresponsible with these things.

We also ALWAYS travel with a few plastic baggies so in the event of rain or a water ride, they can be hidden away.

I wear hearing aids and have found that some of the rides and attractions are very loud. I will take my hearing aids off for some of the shows, like Mickey's Philharmonic, if it is too loud. I don't do rollercoasters or spinning rides, so I don't have to worry about that. But I seldom take the hearing aids off because I am afraid of losing them. And it is awkward to take them on and off. :)

Thanks all!
I hadn’t actually thought about the shows being loud… 🧐guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. 🙃
