This is my first time through airport security with a hearing aid. Will it set off security? Should I take it out? Do I need to have it out of my bag?

I just don't want to lose it in the process!

I've flown many, many times with my hearing aids. There is no issues - leave them in and no need to even mention them (they've never triggered any system I've been through).

That assumes, of course, that your hearing aids are similar to mine or my dad's - small behind the ear or in the ear.

Yep. Agree with Sir Duff. DH has been flying for over 20 years with his hearing aids (behind the ear) and has never taken them out or had a problem.i

Now my new titanium knee - that's a whole other story.

My daughter has worn AIDS sinc age 4 and she is 30. It's never been an issue. My husband has artificial hips. Depending on the airport, it's either a breeze or he gets taken into a private room.

No problem with wearing it through airport security. Kiddo flew with hers for the first time in December. However, you may want to turn it off or take it out for the actual flight, depending on where you are sitting/how tolerant you are to flight noise.

Kiddo Is young enough that they have the volume/power controls locked out. We let her take hers out for the flight since the noise was bothersome. So you might want to have your case handy.
