For those of you familiar with my tale of woe about our first offer at OKW not passing ROFR, here is an update...

After several weeks of waiting, we finally received an email from the seller that DVC has waived ROFR!!!

We have been working on this since early January. Here are the details for those interested:

150 pts. @ OKW (Feb. UY), 64 available for 2004. Priced at $65/pt with us paying closing costs and maint. fees on the unused points.

Can't wait to make our first reservation :Pinkbounc

WELL IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!

I guess that last dose of pixie dust got you over the hump! Seriously, I'm very happy for you. Congratulations and welcome home.

Now the wait to make your ressies. I recommend that you schedule a vacation as soon as possible to get over the stress of this ordeal!

Awesome price!!!!

Congratulations and welcome home.

Did you purchase this through a resale store? and if so which one?

Congratulations and Welcome Home!! I know that you really lost sleep and sweated over this one.

So... when's your first trip home????

Tough to beat.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I especially like hearing that this was a counter offer. Nice to know both you and Poorman have managed a counter offer to a successful resale. The broker I worked with said it couldn't be done. Now I know better.

Could $65 per point be the price Disney allows through? My OKW resale got through earlier this month at $65.

My pleasure having you as a neighbor.

Denis

Thank you to everyone for your encouragement throughout this process...we wouldn't have had the confidence to follow this through without the candid information posted on these threads.

sunan -- Yes, the U-Haul full of pixie dust was definitely a factor!

wisbucky -- This was purchased through a private party, there was no broker involved.

HookdonWDW -- Our first trip "home" will probably be limited to when we can get reservations. We would prefer late October or early December (along with every other DVC Member!).

DBBN -- "65" seems to be a lucky number lately. I also wonder if our location is a factor. We live in a state that DVC cannot market to.

To potential members: if you find a great resale, definitely jump on a second offer if the first one doesn't slide through ROFR. The key is letting the seller know immediately that you are not out of the picture quite yet ...
