Are there any healthy things to eat in the park or places?

Something that isn't deep fried, or covered in chocolate? LOL

There are salads at most of the restaurants and a fruit cart in Fantasyland!

My favorite semi-healthy place is the Pacific Wharf cafe in Disney CA. I got the Shrimp Louie and it was great!

There are "fruit stand" type places in just about every "land" at Disneyland - in addition to whole fresh fruit (apples, bananas, and oranges) they also offer fruit bowls and veggie bowls (typically carrots and celery with some kind of dip). Over at DCA I've seen the fruit stands in "a bug's land" (they also sell sourdough bread and other snacks) and on Hollywood Boulevard across from the Animation Building.

As Casey's Mommie said, just about every restaurant has a salad, and you can always ask for no dressing or dressing on the side. Redd Rocket's has pasta (probably still high calorie, but at least not deep-fried! :-) ). I would agree that Pacific Wharf Cafe might have the "healthiest" choices.

Bengal BBQ serves grilled skewers that are VERY GOOD!

I like the bacon wrapped asparagus skewers, as well as the terriyaki chicken skewers.:thumbsup2

I've found it's pretty easy to find healthy options in the parks, if you really want them. lol. We love the fresh fruit stands. They are a little pricey compared to say the grocery store, but they are pretty comprable with park prices in general. I've heard that they also have the dole whips and have yet to try those, but everyone who has had them seems to rave about them, and that would be an excellent snack.

To be honest I actually had a hard time finding food that wasn't greasy. Pacific Warf Cafe is your best choice, they have sandwiches. You can get almost any meal in the park with fresh fruit instead of fries or chips. Like the others posted there are a million fruit stands all over the park, fruit is not hard to come by. There are salads, but I was looking for some food food when I was there, not just salads and it was hard to find anything not greasy. My meal at Blue Bayou was good and Rain Forest Cafe, but all the quick eats were greasy unless you're fine just eating salad and fruit.

we get sandiches, fruit, and if we are indulging we split the plate (most entrees can be split anyway)

I like the corn dogs from Corn Dog Castle in DCA. I was told they are not only made with pork hot dogs, but the batter is fried 3 or 4 times to get it thick and crusty. Sounds healthy to me...:lmao:

Redd Rocket's Pizza port in Tomorrowland is great.

They have a variety of fresh made salads (I like the chicken ceasar one), pasta dishes, and pizza. If you get veggie or cheese pizza, and split a slice with someone, that's pretty healthy. The pizza is not greasy at all. They also have some basic pasta/marinara dishes which could be considered healthy as well.

I agree with Bengal BBQ.

River Belle Terrace re-opened recently and they have some good looking salads and fresh sandwiches (tri tip, turkey, and pulled pork).

The Main Street Bakery sells sandwiches as well as fruit.

There is fruit everywhere, as mentioned.

Healthy food is MUCH easier to come by at DLR than at WDW...

I always love going to the fruit stand by the Jungle Cruise because they usually have mango slices and always have pinapple spears. Also in Frontierland they have places where you can buy large sweet or sour pickles to munch on(not my cup of tea but other people seem to like them).

I also was afraid DL food was going to be deep-fried like at the county fair. :rotfl:

Thankfully, much of it isn't. We've enjoyed:

Sandwiches at Carnation Cafe are very yummy! We also found sandwiches in Toontown and elsewhere, though I'm not remembering where.

Pasta and salads were good (though not great) at Redd Rockett's. DH ate a nice chicken caesar salad there, and it is plentiful. :)

I had a wonderful rib basket at the Taste Pilots Grill in DCA, loved it! (Though it probably is very fatty!) :lmao:

There are other meat dishes in the parks that DH was able to eat.

There's plenty of high fat food for those that want it as well: Mac and Cheese, burgers and fries, hotdogs and corndogs, ice cream. Our kids loved having all of that.

Churros are healthy, what are you talking about! ;) ;)

hahah, seriously though, your on vacation... dont be afraid to spoil yourself with very yummy UNHEALTHY food. :)
