Is there such a snack to satisfy a sweet tooth yet be healthy, besides fruit???:confused3

for sweet tooth I like the sugar free chocolate pudding cups. Not very healthy (though some calcium???) but it's a good cure for a sweet tooth.

How about dark chocolate covered almonds (in moderation of course). There have been lots of studies that have shown the health benefits of dark chocolate.

I have used agave nectar as as substitute--it's sweet, but it is healthy. :)

Sugar free (outside of a diet coke) for me is cruel and unusual punishment.

Dark chocolate in moderation is yummy as well.

Also, Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds are regular almonds with a dusting of cocoa powder on them - just a little sweet and quite healthy. I don't normally enjoy almonds, but I keep a bottle of these at my desk at work and for an afternoon snack I eat a handful of the cocoa almonds and some dried fruit (Sunsweet Antioxidant Blend dried fruit in bags at the supermarket). Very tasty combination.

Fudgecicles, believe it or not, are actually pretty low calorie and one of the healthiest ice cream options you can get.

Chocolate Cheerios....not the worse thing in the world. 100 calories (without milk) satisfies my chocolate/crunchy/cookie cravings.

Also, if in need of a real chocolate fix, I'll do one square of Hershey pure dark chocolate. That's all I need!

Slim Fast makes snack bars that come in different flavors including chocolate. I usually have one as an afternoon snack. Even my grandma who is a big chocolate eater enjoys these. She says they curb her chocolate cravings.

Oh yea, that reminds me, Fiber One makes 90 calorie bars now. Holy cow are they ever good.

I love kashi bars. there is a honey almond one and a dark chocolate almond one that are really yummy, and they have a good dose of fiber and protein so are filling as well as a nice way to satisfy a sweet craving. :)

Breyers has 100 calorie cups of yogurt, called Yo-Crunch, sweetend with Truvia. They have mix in's in the lid, chocolate chip cookies, Nestle Crunch etc. I do NOT like yogurt without sugar, but these are sooooooooooooooooo good!

If you mix fat free sugar free pudding mix into plain fat free yogurt, it makes a nice sweet creamy fruit dip. I use the white chocolate flavor.

Banannas or strawberries dipped into sugar free hershey syrup.

Chocolate Cheerios are good! Sometimes I will have a slice of wheat toast with just a little bit of Nutella on it.

Oh, take two choc graham crackers, fill them with fat free cool whip & freeze it, tastes just like an ice cream sandwich. It was an old weight watcher recipe.

mmmm those are great ideas!!

I love Larabars. They are sweet and are pure energy with nothing artificial added. The one I just picked up is called Pecan Pie and contains only Dates, Pecans, and Almonds.

I have some of these...a friend gave them to me because she didn't like them. I learned the hard way not to eat too many in a week. One every 3 or 4 days is fine....one every day, not so much. :headache:

I like Kudos bars. I think they are 100 calorie now. I usually buy the variety pack, to mix things up a bit. They satisfy the urge to eat an entire bag of M&M's...

Thanks for that warning. I won't eat them at all. If it bothers most people in this one, just one will get me. Activia was another problem for me...:scared1:

Hard candies & ices have no fat so if you can choose between say a chocolate fudge ice bar and real chocolate, the sugar free ice is the way to go.

Rita's Splendorini (sp?) is pretty fantastic, ans so are their sugar free ices. Skinny Cow desserts are awesome. Also Cool Whip free is pretty amazing, and a DF makes a pie with it mixed with sugar free jello for flavor.

My DH loves making smoothies with his health shakes and fruit. I can't choke them down considering how high the calories are, but for a man they seem a perfect milkshake substitute.
