Healthy quick service options?

Do healthy quick service options exist? My parents eat really healthy so most food in the parks they wouldn’t eat. I’m trying to think of where to take them for lunch. They’re going to have a one park a day ticket so we can’t hop. I don’t think they’ll want to leave the parks for lunch because it’ll take away park time.

They haven’t been inside the parks since 2009 so a lot has changed. The trip is about spending time with their grandchild. They aren’t big planners which is tricky at Disney so I’m trying to figure things out on my own and guiding them when we get there.

We will be at Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Are there any food booths at Epcot during February? Magic Kingdom might leave for lunch to one of the hotels since they’re close by if there’s a good option there.

If anyone has recommendations for dinners too that would be helpful. I booked Flying Fish. Last trip my toddler didn’t really like any of the kid meals at sit downs so I’m not sure what to do about this. I booked two character dining but might end up cancelling since I’m sure the food options aren’t great. Hoping my parents will over look that for my daughter lol. She loves those.

Hard to get restaurants are out too since they’re all booked up since 60 day window has already passed.

The Festival of the Arts runs through Feb 20, and could be a very good option for park dining that day. As for Animal Kingdom, I'd recommend looking at the menus for Haramba Market - some salad and grilled chicken options (not sure what healthy foods they like!). MK could be more challenging. Have a great trip!

Thank you! That works out perfect for Epcot. I’m not really sure what they’ll eat, but salads and grilled food is a great place to start. MK I feel like has some of the most unhealthy food so that one is going to be a challenge. And of course is my toddlers favorite park lol

Satu’li Canteen at DAK and Docking Bay 7 at DHS (Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge) would be my choices when looking for quasi-healthy quick service other than the typical fried park food type stuff. Both are pretty decent quality, in my opinion, and have more interesting choices.

MK is really tough, in my opinion. It’s Table Service but Skipper Canteen would be my choice. Usually pretty easy to get same day/last minute.

Thank you! Not opposed to doing sit down if it’s the best option.

Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom has grilled shrimp and salmon options, along with green bean and rice sides. It was a nice change from fries!!
They would definitely like that salmon is a favorite of theirs. I’ve only gotten the lobster roll there which I know they’d hate lol

Are they low-carb/ prefer to eat a meal comprised of just a lean protein with a vegetable side, or do they just want to stay away from fried foods? I have a ton of options to recommend, but not everyone uses the same definition of “healthy eating” (which is fair, since that’s a very broad term).

I know whatever I like they don’t approve of lol. They eat a lot of salads and vegetables. They’ll eat fish but try to stay away from meat mostly. If a menu gives an option for grilled or fried they’ll always pick grilled. I think the most unhealthy thing they’d eat would be sweet potato fries, but that’s a rare treat kind of thing. Definitely can’t bring them where all the options are fried food and fries

Thank you for clarifying! I definitely agree with the suggestions for Satuli Centeen, Skipper Canteen at MK (the kids steak is a great option as they can do just the steak and a broccoli side, for example), and CHH (again, they can get the kids’ Salmon meal). If you can get Sci-Fi at DHS, they have a really nice grilled chicken salad there. I am personally a huge fan of taking the monorail from MK to Poly for lunch for their salad at Captain Cooks, and actually, all of the monorail resorts have a nice salad option, so you are not “stuck” with what is at MK.

Another thumbs-up for Satu'li. We love to eat there, and they have a few healthy (and also 'non-healthy'!) options! You can also use mobile order ahead on your app if you'd like to have a shorter wait when you arrive.

Thank you everyone! This is all very helpful.

I’m working on them agreeing to a character breakfast. Probably going to have to cancel one they are being stubborn on it and might just agree to one. I have crystal palace and Tusker House booked. Which would have more healthy options? I can’t really tell from the menus but I’m thinking Tusker House? They’re both early so no cross over with lunch foods.

My guess would be Tusker House having slightly healthier options, since it will include some fun and non-traditional breakfast food (so you won't be stuck with only the eggs, bacon, pancake options).

It doesn't show it on the menu, but I just did a quick search to confirm they still serve salads at the breakfast buffet (they did this a few years ago when we went as well). This includes carrot and chickpea salad, a watermelon feta salad, and a black-eyed pea salad.

I would think most breakfast buffets would have some sort of oatmeal or grits option and definitely fresh fruit if they are stuck for something healthy.

I recommend searching YouTube for some recent reviews. I often find that seeing the food helps me better evaluate whether I think it will satisfy our eaters who have specific requirements and/or likes/dislikes.

At the Festival of the Arts, I highly recommend the beet carpaccio (I think it has a slightly different name this year). It's all vegetables-note, that's BEET, not BEEF. There was a guy in front of ,me, canceling his order because he'd misread it as beef carpaccio. It's at a booth near Canada. Another good option is at a booth in America, a pan-seared scallop with butternut squash. Very good!

Honestly, I wouldn't cancel character dining for your daughter based on your parents' eating preferences. They can either suck it up or go to breakfast elsewhere and meet back up with you. I would never want my niece or nephew not to have a character dining experience just because of my food preferences. You never know when you'll be back and you know what your child will truly enjoy. It's 2 meals. They can make it work.

Not all, but most eating establishments at WDW have at least one plant/or vegetarian option and they are rarely fried. It's a pain in the rear but your best best is to just look at the menus of where you think you might want to eat.

Lol I wish they were that easy going. But you’re right they can go do something else if they don’t want to come.

Thank you they’ll definitely like this! Is there somewhere on Disneys website for the festivals menus? I couldn’t find it when searching dining but not sure if it’s in a different spot.
