I have looked and haven't been able to find an answer to my question. Does anyone know if the counter service restaurants in the parks offer a healthier option to french fries? All of the sandich meals in the parks seem to include fries. I haven't even seen where it may be an option to just order a hamburger and no fries. I would hate to pay for the fries and them not be eaten, so it would be nice to know if they would substitute something else. My wife is trying to eat healthier and has found that french fries are the absolute worst food in the world when it comes to fat and cholesterol.

Thanks in advance!

There are also carts scattered around the parks that have cold fruit available.

After a week of eating out, a dripping cold slice of watermelon from the cart by Dueling Dragons is sheer heaven.

Agreed...nothing quite like ice cold fruit on a hot day. :thumbsup2

I am pretty sure you could get a hamburger without fries and sure they sell them by there self without fries and why not eat fries when the burgers are as bad as the fries :confused3

I've always thought "counter service food/healthy foods" is an oxymoron. ;)

They do use trans fat free oil and do offer healthy side offerings in place of fries: http://www.universalorlando.com/usf_dining.html

Thank you phamton, for posting that link. It's good to know that they are offering salads in place of fries. I wonder if it would be possible to get the fruit sometimes, like they offer with the kids meals.

KY07, the burgers are not just as bad as the fries. Believe me, we have done our homework on cutting fat grams and the fries are worse. You should look on some of the fast food joints' websites at the nutritional information and even the ones who cook their fries in transfat-free oil are high in fat. Yes, the burgers are pretty bad, but not so bad without cheese and mayo. Double whammy if you have a CHEESEburger AND fries. It's just not worth it to blow your diet that bad. The wife has done well. She's in a size 6 or 8 and is aiming for a 4. She says that this vacation is not going to ruin what she has worked so hard for.
