Our DLH stay went from $315 to $263 I am now pondering switching to the GCH at a rate of $335

Unless I missed something in the fine print, this actually appears to be a carbon copy of last year's AP Fall discount (which was also 25% for Sun-Thurs, if I recall correctly), complete with the FP and the photo. I ended up giving my FP away last year, but I certainly took advantage of the free 5x7 photo! I'm glad to see that the 2014 Fall discount is not a step backwards!

Yes it seems to be the same. Last year we used the Fastpasses for RSR at night. Then the ride broke down so we got to ride to again it was a good use of a Fastpass. So happy they released it earlier this year!

I was wondering why the AP discounts were slow to come out when the Disney Visa discounts had already been announced (along with others).

Well, if I end up taking advantage of this discount again this year, I will probably give the FP away again. So, if any DIS'ers are at DLR at the same time I'm there (whenever that is, but it would be in December), I will likely have a FP up for grabs!

Of course it starts the week after we will be there. But I just booked Paradise Pier using the one day deal over at Travelocity so I still did just fine. No FP or photo though. Oh well!! Glad that it is saving the rest of you a buck or two.

Yeah there is more blockouts. When I put in your dates it came up with $271 a night which I guess isn't bad but it isn't the best either.

It's certainly better than the regular, non-discounted PPH rate, which is ridiculous!

I have a feeling that all of the folks who heard that early December was a good time to go (to avoid crowds) had an influence on that early December week suddenly becoming less of a value. Disney saw that they got a lot of visitors in early December over the last year or two and decided to block out the good discount.

So they have a new fall offer that starts Oct 26 and ends Dec 18, with 31 of those 54 days blocked out? What????? Why bother to call it a fall offer at all?

That said, though, my dates (which coincide with your random selection, Dec 7-10) were all available at GCH for the fall offer. Is it just PPH that has those dates blocked out?

Maybe it is just PPH, if you were able to see the GCH at the full discounted price for those same dates? Very weird!

I think I concluded that I'd have to go on 12/14 and then be gone by 12/18 (if I wanted to go in December, stay at the PPH and get the best rate, that is). It's nice to have a big window of time to work with and plan for, isn't it?

I can't go a week earlier. Looking at the dates that I would actually be able to go in early December, I think they are blocked (meaning unavailable to book) from the AP Fall Package right now. The Fall Package would only be available (out of the back-up dates I could possibly go) on 12/15-12/18, and then the rate is $248 or so, for a standard view. The Late Fall Room offer is the next best deal, but it has all of those blockout dates to work around.

I am certain that someone else will run into this issue because someone will inevitably try to go during one of the days that the Fall Package is not available, and end up with the Late Fall offer instead -- or no discount.

It's a very confusing set-up this year (last year it was easier to figure out and sort through).
