Heads Up EWR/MCO Via Song no more!

FYI-Transportation board is reporting all flights after Sept. 6, 2005 on Song from EWR to MCO have been discontinued. Checked their website and it is true. I had tickets already for next March...too sad, best flights I've taken. Alternatives are out of JFK and LGA. I'm too far northwest for those airports.

Wow...I have taken Song from EWR to MCO several times and always enjoyed my flights.....I actually am booked with Song to LAX from JFK and then to come home from the August repo on 9/3 but I think its from MCO to LGA....hope this is not a sign of other cancellations to come.

We're on song for our trip this month. That's such a bummer. I loved Song. Continental doesn't hold a candle to it.

I guess I could always take Hooters Air out of LVI - that's about what it's coming to.

I rebooked with Delta and the good part is I saved some $$ doing so. I can't believe how few options there are for direct flights. Actually, I didn't see any direct flights on Delta,Continental. I would have tried USA3000, but since they fly on certain days, I couldn't make the schedule work. Sad, Song will be missed by this family.

If you don't mind connecting flights, try Air Tran. We've flown EWR/MCO twice on Air Tran (as recently as last week) and have been very pleased both times. On our first trip, there were a lot of weather-related delays and cancellations which resulted in our missing the connection in Atlanta, and they were very helpful and managed to get us home the same night, even upgrading us to Business Class because of our difficulties. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. The only problem is that they have a limited number of flights each day, but they do fly every day. The price has been very good, too.
