Heading to Vero Beach Next Week

Enjoy the Dole Whips at Bleachers snack bar next to the pool. The light house water slide is great fun. Many planned pool activities that are fun to par take in.

Any tips and tricks? Anything we shouldn't miss? Anything we need to book before arrival? Anything we shouldn't forget to bring? Thanks!!

Remember to bring your Troubles, BUT LEAVE THEM AT THE FRONT DOOR, For this is Disney, nothing else matters....Enjoy your trip:thumbsup2

We stayed at Vero last September and truly enjoyed it. Do you enjoy biking? One of our favorite things was our early morning bike ride along the Jungle Trail. It is not part of the resort, but you can ride from the resort to the trail. Really nice.

Campfire was fun for our kids, but not geared toward adults. They did a lot of silly campfire songs. All the kids seemed to love it. Several adults-only groups left early.

Check out the schedule as soon as you get there. They have some really cool events, such as a turtle conservation presentation and an early morning walk on the beach to view the turtle tracks.

If you have kids, sign them early for the Unbirthday Party. There was no charge for this event (I think it was ages 4-12? Something like that...) and you can drop off the kids for an hour or so and enjoy some adult time. The kids played games and decorated cupcakes.

I kept trying to book things before arrival but I was told there was no need. Just check the schedule when you get there and book the activities you to want to book asap (some are show up - some require reservations).

Will you be there on a weekend? I think they have a character breakfast on the weekend. This you might have to book a little early.

I will be there later on this month and I called Disney Dining and made reservations on Saturday for character breakfast and on Sunday a brunch (no character) think I may cancel the Sunday brunch.

I'm a planner - so I looked online at their spa services and will be doing a mommie and me package with my DD9. Didn't make those reservations yet.

For the bike info above: I assume you rented the bikes at the resort
? My dd9 is fairly new at riding and I wouldn't want to take her on street quite yet. Is this completely on a bike path?

Maybe you're already gone, but here's some tips after our visit last week...

Only 20 kids can participate in the UnBirthday Party each day it's offered. Sign up at Eb and Flo's early the day of the event. Mini Golf is free for DVC members on Thursdays. If you want to rent chairs and umbrellas at the beach, do it when you arrive or at least the day before you want them because they can and do sell out. The Pirate night (family style BBQ with Goofy and Donald) at Shutters on Monday nights was fun and pretty good food. Bring your DVC card and license to get the DVC discount at the restaurants and gift shop. There wasn't a discount at Bleachers, but one cast member made a comment that may change April 1.

Have fun!

How much are the beach chair rentals. I recall from about 5 years ago they were ALOT of money and it would have been cheaper to just stop at Walmart and pick up a couple and leave them there. We ended up not doing because that year some nice woman on DIS organized a chair swap. We all sent her XX of money, she ordered chairs at the beginning of the year and bell services kept for the guests when they requested.

Does anyone know if they have bikes with training wheels or adult bikes with toddler seats attached?
