True. But what about water bottles? I feel like something I'm actively putting my lips to is more risky?

What Ive sussed out from everything that Ive read is that ingestibles arent really a concern. I guess if you have a history of water/ food going "dwon the wrong pipe" that could maybe be an issue but since the digestive tract doesnt really have anything to do with the lungs I wouldnt be too worried. Id still practice good hygiene and use the cleanest method of drinking as possible but Id think it would be much more important to stay well hydrated and keep your mucous linings moist so they can better do their job rather than worry about ingesting COVID.

One thing I have been doing is a Neti flush after I am around larger crowds. In the best of times its kinds gross to do in a public area (so try to find a single seater bathroom) but Id consider taking materials to do a rinse every couple of hours. Minimally Id bring a saline nasal spray because the masks dry me out (why? you think youd stay nice and humid in there). Ive not seen any medical professional recommend Neti flushes but I figure they cant hurt and they make me feel a heck of a lot better after Ive been around a crowded area.

Those of you bringing water bottles (and bags, hats, etc) - how do you manage them on the rides? I'm not excited about using the seat sacks they have, and not sure how to hold all of it without getting in trouble. We travel fairly light, but even still with bringing ponchos and extra masks and sanitizer we'll need at least a bag or two for the 6 of us. Normally we just put it at our feet or in the seat sack, but with COVID how do you keep everything somewhat clean? We've never brought water bottles but we're going in August so debating this time. Just not sure how to manage that all. Thoughts?
Been continuing to think about it and just knowing myself and the amount of stuff I like to have with me, I'm backtracking on the "no bag" idea--instead, I'm thinking of bringing my usual park bag but policing myself on only getting stuff out of it right after I've washed or sanitized my hands. High-touch items (hand sanitizer, etc.) will get clipped to the outside of the bag. There's no such thing as a completely clean, "safe" surface, but with the rising indications that touch is less concern than inhaling airborne droplets I'm feeling more comfortable again with the idea of treating anything that's been inside my bag as "clean" as long as I'm mindful about wiping stuff down before it goes in there and keeping the bag shut. That'd include water bottles.

I mostly like your list a lot. This is the one point I might reconsider. As I understand it the virus needs several days in most people to replicate enough to give a positive test. So I would either retest at the 7and 14 days after being home, test once at about the 5 days after being home point or forego the test altogether and act as if I have it, really restricting my outings after returning home, always wear a mask when around anyone that was not my travel companion, wash like a fiend, etc..

Remember that a test is only accurate for a point in time and I feel that a negative test would give a lot of people a false sense of security and make them participate in riskier behavior after said negative test. I personally believe the best approach for everyone that is not symptomatic/ in close contact with a known positive is just to act as if they are infected since we obviously cant test everyone every day. Unless my town is doing some sort of town wide testing for research purposes, I'd of course participate in something like that.

FWIW, we did travel last week (not to a theme park but still went out more than necessary even though we tried to only be out at off times) and we are taking the last approach unless we develop any symptoms.
That's a very good point I hadn't thought of, so thank you for bringing it up. Based on what's going on in my life, it'll be better for me to test multiple times than to put it off.

I will definitely bring a ziplock bag or reusable plastic container for my mask when I want to take it off for drinking/eating or taking a break at a resting station. I am not going to hang it down one ear or pull it down my chin to avoid cross contamination. Then disinfect it after use each time.

  • I'm also trying to figure out everyone's must-dos for each park so that we have a small game plan before someone gets ticky in their mask
  • I'm taking as many pictures with my mask as possible, thanking as many cast members as I can, and keeping an overall positive vibe.

The above x 1000%

I have the belt clip thing like thecm use

I know that Disney sells the Carabiners (sp?) at the little kiosk outside Space Mountain, and also at Casey's Big Top shop....they are red, and have the white mickey glove on them....just be sure you wipe the mouth piece clean before you sip (just an added precaution).... :) We have our old ones (pre white glove design), that are the Mickey head with the opening for the bottle, and they go on every one of our trips. They're wonderful!

Are water fountains open? We usually bring brita filtered bottles and drink the 'seven seas lagoon' water as we call it.

Yes. However, I did see some teens licking them and the water bottle filler at SWGE right after I used it. Brought my own and purchased during the day for the rest of the trip.

Does anyone know how they are handling PIN numbers for Magic Band payments? I would hope they don't make you touch the key pad like they did during normal times, but haven't seen anyone discuss this anywhere.

For shopping, has WDW stopped using the plastic bags? When I was on DCL in March my options were to buy a reusable bag for my purchases or just carry them without any type of bag. I had planned to bring a reusable bag for purchases but locally here stores are not wanting people to bring their own bags.

They have plastic bags or you can buy a reusable one for $1, all I'd them are the same price right now

They were giving us plastic bags. I was only asked if I wanted to purchase one at Droid Depot.
