Headed to the Fort Tomorrow!! 1st time in RV!!

We are excited This is our first big trip in our "new to us" RV. We just bought a 2006 Damon Astoria! We've had a 36 ft 5th wheeel since 2003 up to now. So camping is not new to us, we spent 60 nights in our camper just last year, but Rving is new to us and we're hoping we like it!

We live about 900 miles from the FORT, so we'll be breaking it in right!! When we bought the moho, we thought what better place for our first trip to be..Fort Wilderness. We were there last March and had a wonderful time! We were in Loop 500. This time I have requested Loop 1300. Who knows what we get? But, we have premium reserved.

We are headed out tomorrow. Not sure of the exact time, but sometime, hopefully before noon. We were going to get all hooked up tonight to the two vehicle, get the golf cart loaded, etc...

BUT..we have severe thunderstorms forecasted for the evening and tonight, but it's supposed to be beautiful weather by morning So, we'll wait until in the morning to get all that stuff done. Kinda ticks me off, I wanted to leave early!

I work until 5PM today, then I have to go grocery shopping and to the bank.

I won't be able to sleep tonight..too excited!! We have a 3 year old who loves Disney This will be his 4th trip to WDW and 2nd to the fort!!

Our plans are to travel from Monroe, La to around Tallahassee, FL tomorrow. Of course, that all depends on when we actually get to leave!

I'm thinking that RVing is not new for you, just the type of RV you own. Most of us consider that whatever we own to be an RV. If it has wheels and requires power to move it down the road, it's an RV.

Have a great trip! When we got our MH 3 years ago the Fort was our first trip too. May as well start out right!

We took one short, practice trip after we bought our TT 6 years ago (to warm up for the Fort of course). Hope you guys have a FANTASTICAL trip!!! Try to keep us updated. It'll help keep us satisfied until we get there in July!

Thanks all! DH just went to fill it up and get a new inspection sticker and had the tires checked!

We did go on a weekend trip a few weeks ago, over to Dallas. It was only a 4 hours trip.
