This will be our 2nd trip to DW but the first to FW. Is there anything I might need to know. Also I am pulling from North Alabama this also will be our longest pull. My wife is not looking forward to the pull but is looking forward to DW.
We are thinking about bringing a Golf cart is it really needed? Our dates is May 14 thru 18.

Bring the cart if it's not much trouble. I have one now but didn't our 1st visit so we rented to go looping. Looping btw is where you go around and look at all the sites and talk to other campers. Not being a wiseacre, just thought I'd mention that in case you didn't know lol. Have a great time and welcome to our sick little world.

If you are nervous about towing I'd definately leave the cart for another trip.......:thumbsup2

Alot of hassle for a short trip.......

The pull from North Alabama is not bad at all. What I usually do is head out after work about 5pm and get on I-565, then I-65 down to B'ham which gets me there 7pmish after rush hour, then onto I-20 to Atlanta which gets me there about 10pmish Eastern and practically no traffic. I go through downtown Atlanta getting onto I-75S I stop for the night at the Forsyth KOA or at a hotel on I-475 Exit 3.

Then I continue on the next morning on I-75, then the Florida Turnpike, then 429S, then Exit 8 Western Way, then turn left on West Buena Vista Dr, then World Drive North, then a right turn to the the Fort!!! Gets me there about 1:30 - 2pm Eastern.

Have a great trip!!!

I am not nervous its just the longest we have pull. I pull every weekend so its not that big of a deal. Now I have not tried to pull with a golf cart in the back. I have 2007 Tundra Mega crew not even sure the cart will fit in the 5.5 ft bed . It a buddy of mine having to look in to that what is the cost of renting one.?

No way the cart is going to fit in the 5.5 foot bed. I just measured the length of my cart from the front of the front tire to the back of the back tire and that was right at 81". I think the wheelbase (axle to axle) is about 69".

If you are doing the parks, a golf cart is not necessary, if your going for the campground then they are handy to have. If you don't want to put out the 50.00 a day for the whole trip maybe you can do it for one day.:)

While your there , if you have time Cape May Cafe "STEAMED CLAMS" ba-by!And, Beaches & Cream GOTTA try the "kitchen Sink". Mr.:goofy:

Its worth it if you like to eat alot...it aint neccessary, it IS expensive, but you get what you pay for.
