We're headed to Vero next week with teenagers. Looking for ideas of places to eat(we'll have a car) and things to do. We've been there before but need your expertise. Has anyone done the canoeing that Disney offers on the river? Thanks in advance- I get all of my ideas from these boards.

Just saw the Captian Hiriam's has boat rentals. I wonder what that means. Would be a nice day renting a boat and riding around on the inland waterway..... Maybe head up to Cocoa?

Sonyas Brunch on Sundys is fantastic but costs $18.95 per adult. Shutters is a good family style restaurant also on the premises. The Black Pearl on route A1A about 5 miles south of the DVC Vero Resort is great for adults -
entrees $15 on Sun-Thurs 4:30pm to 5:30 pm but much higher other times. Good for couples. Pretty expensive to take kids to. There is also a Pizza place next to the Vero resort at the traffic light.

We always make a trip to TooJays deli in Vero Beach. The resort staff can tell you how to get there. Good food & lots of it, reasonably priced. While you're there you can order take-out to bring back to the resort for later when the teenagers are hungry again.

You will love VB!! It's great! Teenagers, adults and kids will all love shutter's. We had breakfast and dinner there and it was very good--even for picky eaters. I think the kids will enjoy the beach and pool--the slide was a lot of fun. And take advantage of the free video rentals for DVC members. That was fun to do at night, along with popcorn!! Enjoy!!!

Recommend Captain Hiram's also! Great food and great atmosphere, reasonably priced. Recommend Vincents also, great Italian food. Papa Johns Pizza delivers. Good pizza, no salads though and their large pizza's were on the smaller size. Our family (2 adults/3 kids (13/11/6))ate 2 large pizzas with no leftovers for breakfast.
